Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event at Jigger & Pony in Singapore last night was my seventh Galaxy Unpacked event in a row… and the most satisfying of them all. For the first time, I really feel that Samsung has found the perfect balance between advanced tech features and price, which has always been a struggle with its foldables range. The Samsung Galaxy Fold 7 and Flip 7, as well as the Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic, seem like the devices to beat in 2025. Here’s why.
Galaxy Z Fold 7: Super light, super thin, super camera

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is the best evolution of the Fold series by a mile. I liked last year’s Fold 6 for its squarish design and thin profile; Samsung has taken those features to the extreme – the Z Fold 7 is just 4.2mm (!!!) unfolded, 8.9mm folded and weighs an insanely light 215g, lighter than my S25 Ultra!
For most people, the huge unfolded screen is the whole reason for getting a foldable. The Fold 7’s almost as flat as a table. I was never really bothered by the crease —- I know many were — but this new super-flat, virtually creaseless 8-inch inner display is absolutely gorgeous.
The external display has also grown to 6.5 inches, offering better usability when the device is folded.
One of the biggest barriers to Samsung foldable adoption has always been the range’s weak camera array — that’s the reason I currently use the Samsung S25 Ultra after having used every Galaxy Fold since the Fold2. Samsung has finally listened and upgraded the Fold 7’s camera system to a 200MP main sensor for exceptional photo and video quality. There is also a telephoto and macro lens for super versatility.

Under the hood, the Z Fold 7 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, ensuring smooth performance for demanding applications. Its 4,400mAh battery comfortably supports all-day usage.
Why buy the Samsung Fold 7? If you’re seeking a device that combines the functionality of a tablet with the portability of a smartphone, the Z Fold 7 offers a super-thin profile, top-grade cameras and arguably the best large screen on a foldable anywhere.
Galaxy Z Flip 7: Full-face cover display & huge camera upgrade
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 continues Samsung’s tradition of stylish compact foldables. It now features a larger 4.1-inch Flex Window cover display, which works itself around the entire front cover, curving around the camera setup — it’s a beautiful sight to see.

This extra touchscreen space allows for more interactive notifications and controls without opening the device. The internal 6.9-inch main display offers a vibrant and expansive viewing area, larger than many flagships from other brands.
Powered by the Exynos 2500 chipset, the Z Flip 7 delivers efficient performance. The inordinately large 4,300mAh battery supports up to 31 hours of video playback for all-day use (and probably more). For some, the main draw was the new Coral Red colour, which I swear is more like cherry red.
Why buy the Samsung Flip 7? For those who desire a compact, fashionable device (now available in coral red, remember) that doesn’t compromise on performance, the Z Flip 7 is an excellent choice.
Galaxy Watch 8 Classic: Iconic design with modern Upgrades
The Watch 8 Classic retains the beloved rotating bezel, offering a tactile and intuitive navigation experience. I’ve been using the bezel version since the Galaxy Watch 3 and have never gone back.

The newest model features a Super AMOLED display with up to 3,000 nits of brightness and is available in a 46mm size, perfect for those like me who like a larger watch face.
Powered by the 3nm Exynos W1000 processor, the Watch 8 Classic supports Wear OS 6 with One UI 8 Watch. It includes the same advanced health monitoring features as the Watch 8 and offers 5 ATM water resistance and IP68 certification.
Why buy the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Classic? If, like me, you love the intuitive, practical and stylish rotating bezel to interact with your smartwatch, the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic is the standout choice. Now slimmer and even more accurate, it’s the perfect accessory for health, sleep and fitness tracking while also at home in the boardroom.
Galaxy Watch 8: Sleek design with advanced health features
The Galaxy Watch 8 boasts a refined cushion-style design with a Super AMOLED display protected by sapphire crystal. It offers brightness levels up to 3,000 nits, ensuring visibility even under direct sunlight. Available in 40mm and 44mm sizes, the Watch 8 caters to various wrist sizes and preferences.

Equipped with the 3nm processor, the Armor Aluminum Watch 8 provides smooth performance and supports Wear OS 6 with One UI 8 Watch. It includes advanced health monitoring features such as antioxidant levels, circadian rhythm analysis, and a running coach. The device also offers 5 ATM water resistance and IP68 certification for durability.
Why buy the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8? This is an affordable smartwatch with some of the best sensors in the field, all in a compact case that’s so light that it feels like wearing nothing.
Samsung’s latest lineup of their foldable Z series and Watch range is feature-rich, and now includes a range of features that users have been asking for. If you were considering an upgrade, this is the best time to jump on the bandwagon with pre-order discounts and other offers at Samsung Singapore.
