The most difficult question on Earth is one that comes up almost every day— what to eat? And even if you and your friends know what you want to eat, everyone is craving something different. Setengah (半斤八两) is here to solve all your problems.

Nestled in Bedok, Setengah (半斤八两) is Eastwood Road’s latest restaurant that specialises in local delights and has over 88 menu items to satisfy all palates. The wooden furniture and vintage posters that line the walls give the eatery a rustic yet homey feel that will send you back in time.

They offer a variety of prawn, fish, chicken, and squid dishes like Salted Egg Prawn (S$7.80), Fried Sliced Fish with Sambal (S$7.80), Kung Pao Chicken Cube (S$5.80) and Thai Style Sotong (S$7.80). Additionally, they have soups like Seaweed Soup, Bitter Gourd Soup, and Beancurd Soup, priced at S$5.80 each.

Vegetarians can dine here as well as Setengah (半斤八两) offers tasty eats like Egg Tahu Goreng (S$5.80), Egg with Bitter Gourd (S$5.80) and Onion Oil Beancurd (S$5.80)

If you don’t know where to start, check out their signature dishes like Curry Fish Head (S$9.80), Black Pepper Beef (S$9.80), and Stir-Fried Asparagus (S$7.80).

Their breakfast menu carries all the quintessential morning meals like Nasi Lemak (S$2.50), Mee Rebus (S$4.80), Lotong (S$4.80), and Mee Siam (S$4.80). Other than those dishes, they also offer a Set Breakfast which includes 2 eggs, 2 pieces of toast, and coffee or tea. 

Don’t forget to end your comforting meal with some of their local sweet treats like Red Bean Soul ($2.80), Cendol ($5.80), or Ice Blended Coconut ($5.80).

They don’t serve pork or lard, so everyone is welcome to dine here. As Setengah (半斤八两) says, come and support local!
