If Studio Ghibli‘s decision to make 400 pictures from eight of their well-loved movies available in September 2020 was generous, their latest move just feels magnanimous. Look out for 300 more images from six other movies now available on their website.

These high-definition pictures will remind you of the magic of delving into the enchanting worlds brought to life by Studio Ghibli. Relive the adventures of Sophie from Howl’s Moving Castle and follow Haru as she journeys toward self-discovery in The Cat Returns.

Here is a list of the films for which the new slew of images have been released:

  • Howl’s Moving Castle (2004)
  • The Cat Returns (2002)
  • Ghiblies Episode 2 (2002)
  • My Neighbours the Yamadas (2002)
  • Princess Mononoke (1997)
  • Whisper of the Heart (1995)

Looks like its time for loyal Studio Ghibli fans to take another trip down memory lane with these beautiful classic stills. There’s something that’s just so enchanting about the simple, yet elaborate, illustrations that immerse you in the Ghibli worlds.

I’m sure we can all appreciate the extra content from works of literature or art that we have formed a sentimental connection to. Just looking at the stills have me feeling nostalgic, even though I haven’t watched every single film in the collection.

And what better way to attract an audience than with the most common denominator among people—food? This latest collection of  300 images also includes a sizeable portion of food from the Studio Ghibli cinematic universes. I’m pretty sure eggs and bacon have never looked so adorable.

The animations are a testament to the sheer power of suggestion—just the mere sight of those illustrated snacks have my tummy rumbling.

So, if you’ve been feeling a little twang in your gut at old memories with your favourite animated films, it’s time to revive the magic. Download the Studio Ghibli images from their website now, and reminisce to your heart’s content. The images are free to download, but as they so civilly appeal, use them ‘within the bounds of common sense’.
