We all want friendly service during our meals, yes? Apparently not. Rather, it seems that some folks crave ‘horrible’ customer service, which SubaToki Cafe excels in providing. On 26 Aug 2023, they will be hosting a Tsundere cafe pop-up packed with attitude and even punishments located in Daijoubu Cafe!
This cafe certainly caters to a different crowd (particularly the masochists), with scoldings and even physical punishment forming the essence of the experience. Dished out by staff decked in maid and butler uniforms, SubaToki Cafe isn’t an experience for the faint-hearted.

Reading that, you are probably very curious about what tsundere service entails. Tsundere is a Japanese term used to describe a personality whose temperament is harsh at first but melts into a friendly, warmer attitude over time. As such, customers can expect to be ignored and even insulted when calling for service.

As for punishments, the cafe offers a multitude of services as either a Random Gacha (S$2) or a Chosen Service (S$5). The list ranges from dekopins (forehead flicks) to slaps to the hands. However, if that is not your fancy, SubaToki Cafe will make catered arrangements to ensure you have the experience you want.

The event on 26 Aug 2023 would be Natsu Matsuri-themed, so you can expect summer festival-based foods and activities during the pop-up! More information will be released when the date draws closer.
The food is most likely to be in the form of set meals as that’s what Daijoubu Cafe has done with past pop-ups. For their Feb 2023 pop-up, the set meal cost S$23 for Early Reservations and S$28 for Normal Reservations. For that price, customers received a main dish and dessert accompanied by a canned beverage.

As reservations for this cafe sell out incredibly fast, prepare your nimble fingers to get yours before it’s too late. Before heading down to Daijoubu Cafe, it would be best to strengthen your mental fortitude for the angsty experience that awaits all who dare.
