For a society dubbed as ‘first world’ and one of the most expensive cities in the world to live in, one would think Singapore citizens are armed with a self-barometer of discipline and consideration. Unfortunately, that’s not the case, especially when it comes to returning their trays after having their meal at hawker centres. Sure, there are cleaners at their dispense to assist them with the task, but it wouldn’t do any harm to serve the community by being more gracious and lend a hand to these (typically) elderly employees, would it?

That’s what this sixth episode of ‘Tapau Please‘ rants on about, as the co-hosts go on a fiery discussion about what Singaporeans need to take more initiative to return their own trays once they’re done eating. Speaking of hawker centres, they also go on to speak about why hawkers are not seeing the benefits of adopting 100% cashless payments, even with government incentives presently available to help defer the cost. Is it really down just money? Or are Singaporean’s behaviour contributing to this hesitance?
