Dive into the vibrant flavours of Thailand with ThaiYang Kope, KL‘s first Chinese-Muslim Thai kopitiam. Despite the description suggesting a mix of various cuisines, it is actually a restaurant specialising in Thai food, located at IOI Mall Puchong.

This Thai-style restaurant has 2 outlets in Malaysia, one of which is at De Garden, Ipoh. The KL branch is nestled within IOI Mall Puchong’s food street, with its storefront exuding a nostalgic kopitiam vibe.

Besides the typical tom yum and duck noodles, the restaurant also thoughtfully offers vegetarian options that are rich in Thai flavours. Be sure to try the Vegetarian Pad Gra Pow Rice (RM19.90) and Vegetarian Kahnom Jeen Green Curry (RM19.90), both traditional Thai dishes.

One of the most sought-after dishes there is definitely the Thai Toasted Butter Roll (RM4.90), a toasted bun stuffed with various types of filling. Choose from peanut butter, egg custard, Thai milk tea, pandan, and nam prik pao (a type of Thai chilli paste with a thick texture and sweet flavour profile).
You’ll also find Sangkaya, another well-loved Thai dish featuring bread with coconut custard dip. Priced at RM8.50, you can choose to have your bread steamed or toasted, then dip it into the flavoured custard. The flavours available are the same as those offered in the Thai Toasted Butter Roll. Alternatively, you can opt for the Toasted Sangkaya with Ice Cream at RM12.90.
