One of the key factors tourists and travellers look for in a hotel is its location. Situated in the heart of Georgetown, Penang, The Granite Luxury Hotel is the epitome of strategic planning. Craving some cendol to beat the heat? Grab an umbrella and take a short walk to Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendol. Need a new swimsuit? Penang’s oldest departmental store is just across the street.
The Granite Luxury Hotel prides itself in being a one stop centre for all your holiday and event needs. They’ve got comfy rooms for a luxurious sleep, meeting rooms for work events, a gym, and a one-of-a-kind swimming pool for the brave-hearted.
My Experience at The Granite Luxury Hotel
The first thing you’ll see when you drive into the hotel’s compound is its high-tech car park that’s been awarded the Tallest Automated Hotel Car Park in the Malaysian Book of Records.
The car park is divided into 3 towers, allowing for 204 cars to fit at any given time. Each tower reaches 71 metres in height, making it the highest in Southeast Asia. Once you tap your parking card on the scanner, the glass doors slide open for you to drive in. After you scan your card again, you get to watch your vehicle get weighed and lifted off to be parked in an empty space.
I must say, this is something you have to experience for yourself.

Upon entering The Deluxe Suite, I was greeted by a spacious living area, a dining table, and a kitchenette. The hotel’s welcome basket included a couple sachets of Malaysian instant coffee and nutmeg syrup. Penang is known for its nutmeg products, so it was great to see the hotel supporting local products and businesses.
Guests who visit The Granite do so for different reasons, one of them being for business. The dining table doubles up as a work space with a glass whiteboard and projector screen you can pull down. You can even rent a projector for your presentations or for a cosy movie night.
The room also came with an Illy coffee machine and 2 coffee pods, as well as some TWG tea bags for a relaxing night in.
This suite located on the 11th floor overlooked the hustle and bustle of Georgetown, with a full view of Komtar’s 68 floors and car after car driving past.

The Deluxe Suite can host up to 3 guests, as the bedroom itself has 2 single beds, and the couch in the living area can be pulled out to reveal a sofa bed; this room would be perfect for those travelling with a few friends or family members.

Attached to the bedroom is the bathroom complete with all the necessary amenities and a relatively roomy shower space.
A stay at The Granite is not complete without a dip in The Mirage Pool Deck. Not only is the swimming pool one of the hotel’s most instagrammable spots with its colourful fibre optic lights hanging from the ceiling, it’s also home to Malaysia’s Highest Cantilevered Acrylic Bottom Swimming Pool. Here, you see the world from 14 floors up, and all you have to do is swim and look down. Pretty cool, I must say!
Final thoughts
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The room was comfortable and cosy, and the amenities were pristine and well-suited for all types of guests.
The Granite Luxury Hotel is a fantastic choice for any occasion— solo staycations, family holidays, or work trips, they have everything you need. With its central location , you save a lot of time from commuting via car, as many of Penang’s hot spots are just a stone’s throw away. I would recommend The Granite to first-time Penang visitors for a fuss-free holiday.
