Singapore is known globally for having multiple types of various and diverse cuisines, and one that has stood the test of time and remain an integral part of our culture is Hainan cuisine. The Hainanese Chicken Rice is the go-to quintessential Singaporean dish, but Hainanese cuisine is so much more than just chicken rice, and The Hainan Story is a new food court that celebrates all that the cuisine has to offer.
Located in Hillion Mall in Bukit Panjang, The Hainan Story is a food court that includes food from five different classic Hainanese restaurants. Start your day right with some Homemade Gula Melaka Kaya and Butter Toast set (S$4.80), which includes soft boiled egg and an option of either coffee or tea from The Hainan Story’s Coffee and Toast stall. They also carry the Freshly Homemade Gula Melaka Kaya (S$4.20 per jar) on its own so you can prepare it yourself for breakfasts at home.
