To all newly-initiated plant moms, dads, and non-binary parents, I understand the unparalleled rush of excitement of bringing home a new plant child. It’s like having a child without the hassle of 4am sleep-disruptions and diaper changes. All joy and minimal disturbance, is what I’m saying.

Owned by two young sons of garden veterans, The Nursery is the new kid on the block that provides us with a gorgeous new space to shop for plant babies and clock in your aesthetic shots for the ‘gram at the same time. This breath-taking space comes as a breath of fresh air compared to the typically gaudy nurseries we’re used to visiting growing up.

The minimalistic chic interior is what’s so arresting about the place—I can already see crowds flocking here to fulfil their foliage dreams on weekends and week nights alike. With not only ample parking lots right in front of their store, The Nursery is also really easy to access; mere minutes’ walk away from Lavender MRT station.

They’ve got some rare but beautiful species for sale, such as the Alocasia Macrorrhizos Varigata, Alocasia Sarian, Dieffenbachia Maculata Tiki, Philodendron Burle Marx Variegated, and one of their best sellers, the Portulacaria Afra Varigata.

Apart from their obviously gorgeous greens, The Nursery’s extensive and downright beautiful pots are what really struck me too. Muted, earthy, and pastel tones are the name of the game here at The Nursery, and it’s just a feast for the eyes no matter the season or weather.

They have everything from small tabletop pots to large statement pieces. Rattan baskets are available for bigger, centrepiece plants, while smaller, patterned pots make for a cute desk accessory.

I snagged myself the prettiest Aglaonema and spider plant while I was there, so check them out yourself to see what offerings you might just be bringing home with you.
