We’re already in November – where did the rest of the year go? Christmas and year-end merrymaking will soon be upon us, and with that, I’m sure everyone’s planning what to do during the holiday season. Check out this list of 12 things do in November!
1. Anime Festival Asia Singapore 2024
One of the region’s biggest anime conventions is back! First launching in 2008, Anime Festival Asia has since become one of the largest anime events in Southeast Asia. At this year’s convention from 29 Nov to 1 Dec 2024, attendees can look forward to 3 exciting days packed with concerts and meet and greets.
Get ready to let loose with concerts from some of the biggest names in the J-pop entertainment industry including artistes like May’n, Reona, and KANA-BOON. Vtuber fans won’t be left out either, with the cast of Hololive in attendance.
AFASG24 will also hold several live talk shows, featuring guests like Hiroyuki Itoh, CEO of Crypton Future Media, INC, who is responsible for Hatsune Miku, and voice actors Takeo Otsuka and Yurie Igoma of 【OSHI NO KO】 fame.
There is also the much beloved Creators Hub where over 120 international creators will be boothing. The Cosplay Hub will also be showcasing 40 of the region’s most established cosplayers, giving fans the chance to meet their idols in person.

2. Golden Peony presents a new menu
Lovers of traditional Cantonese cuisine, rejoice! Golden Peony, a renowned Cantonese restaurant in Singapore, has launched a new menu. Under the guidance of Executive Chinese Chef Ku Keung, this refresh revives forgotten Cantonese classics, blending traditional techniques with modern culinary creativity.
Signature dishes include the hand-minced Steamed Beef Ball, a nostalgic Hong Kong dim sum item painstakingly prepared with mandarin orange peel, and the Panko-Crusted Crab Meat on Crab Shell, inspired by French seafood gratins.
Golden Peony’s latest offerings reflect its dedication to preserving authenticity while also adapting to contemporary tastes. The restaurant in Conrad Centennial Singapore has been a key player in Singapore’s Chinese dining scene for 28 years and continues to ensure that traditional Cantonese cuisine remains relevant and celebrated.

3. A subLIME Halloween at Lime Restaurant
Yes, we know it’s already November, but some of us are still in Halloween mode. Until 3 Nov, head over to Lime Restaurant at PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering for a spooktacular Halloween buffet.
Enjoy dishes like Chilled Tomato Gazpacho and Baked Escargots to start off. There are also Graveyard Pork Meatballs and Bloody Mary Boston Lobster Pasta for the more discerning palates. If that isn’t enough, the Josper Grill offers gems like Black Pepper-crusted Wagyu Beef and River Prawn Skewers.

4. Porter Robinson’s SMILE! : D WORLD TOUR
Grammy-nominated American DJ and producer Porter Robinson will be making a stop in Singapore as part of his 5-continent world tour in support of his third studio album, SMILE! : D. The concert will take place on 27 Nov 2024 at the Star Theatre.
Porter will debut a brand new production with a full live band during the world tour, a format he experimented with at his previous Second Sky Festival. His debut album in 2014, Worlds, was a massive success.
He followed it up with RIAA Gold single “Shelter”, a collaboration with Madeon in 2016. In 2022, he released “Everything Goes On” in partnership with Riot Games and it has surpassed 100 million streams worldwide.

5. APAC Food and Beverage Expo
Do you love food? From 14 to 17 Nov 2024, you can indulge in a large variety of eats from vendors all around the region at the APAC Food & Beverage Expo. Located in EXPO Hall 5, this event is free admission. Isn’t that great?
Vendors from multiple countries including Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Thailand, Hong Kong and Indonesia will be showcasing delectable dishes and food products, while there are daily lucky draws. With a minimum spend of S$50, participants can enter a sure-win lucky draw that includes air tickets, APAC cash vouchers, and products worth over a total of S$88,888.

6. New bar concept Aurora Borealis at Brasserie Astoria
Stuck on where to go for after-dinner drinks? Don’t worry – Brasserie Astoria has announced the launch of its new multisensory cocktail concept, Aurora Borealis, alongside the extension of two popular initiatives: the Astoria Golden Hour and BYOB Mondays.
The Aurora Borealis cocktail experience is available from Thursday to Sunday and pairs drinks with music. Guests can scan a Spotify code to listen to a song that complements their cocktail. Under the expertise of Aaron Jacobson, Group Operations and Beverage Director for Brasserie Astoria and Zén, the menu features a selection of cocktails starting from S$25.
Highlights include Enjoy the Silence (S$40), which reinterprets the Cuba Libre, and Trump and Taxes (S$60), made with a rare 26-year-old single cask rum.
The popular Golden Hour, offering S$12++ drinks and bites has also been extended to Sundays, adding to its existing Friday and Saturday slots.
On BYOB Mondays, guests are invited to bring their own wine or champagne, with no corkage fee, to enjoy with their meals.

7. LISA Fan Meetup
Buckle up, LISA fans – the star will be at Singapore Indoor Stadium on 11 Nov for a fan meetup. The meetup spans only 5 cities, and lucky for us, Singapore is one of them!
Best known as a member of the hit K-pop group BLACKPINK, LISA has broken several records since her debut as a solo artist, with singles “Lalisa” and “Money” charting in the top 10 of the Billboard Global 200. “Money” also holds the record as the longest-charting song by a solo female K-pop artist on the Billboard Hot 100.

8. 2024 Taemin World Tour [Ephemeral Gaze]
Get ready this November for Taemin’s first solo concert, [Ephemeral Gaze] at Singapore EXPO. Fans can expect a mesmerizing performance showing Taemin’s musical progression, as well as hit tracks from his solo discography including favourites like “MOVE”, “Guilty” and “Sexy In the Air”.
Originally debuting in 2009 with the group SHINee, Taemin has been cited as being the “idol’s idol”, as many other idols look up to him for inspiration. He made his solo debut in 2014 with his first EP, “Ace”, which peaked at number one on the South Korean Gaon Album Chart. He is known for his distinctive and intricate dancing style which incorporates elements of contemporary dance.

9. Shakespeare’s Macbeth
If you love theatre, make room in your calendar for a riveting rendition of William Shakespeare’s Macbeth, directed by the award-winning Alex Spencer-Jones. Direct from the UK, this performance is brought to life by ABA Productions in partnership with the Action To The Word ensemble.
Known for entrancing and innovative physical storytelling, Macbeth marks Action To The Word’s return to Singapore since their performance of Romeo & Juliet in 2023. 10. The Wizard of Oz by Wild Rice
You may have heard of the Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum before, but are you ready for Wild Rice’s take on it? In this reimagining by acclaimed playwright Alfian Sa’at, Yishun is where the crazy things happen. Dorothy finds herself swept up by a cyclone and transported to the magical land of Oz.
In her journey to find her way home, she gets help from several interesting characters – a Scarecrow that speaks Hokkien, a Tin Man with a vocabulary bigger than his axe, and a sensitive Lion who’s very into crochet.
Directed by Ivan Heng with music by Elaine Chan, the Wizard of Oz is a family-friendly performance that will have everyone singing along. Regular showings begin from 14 Nov 2024, with a Relaxed Performance on 15 Dec 2024 to cater to those with accessibility and neurodivergent needs.

11. Transformers Run 2024

Which is your rallying cry? It’s time to pick your side at the Transformers Run 2024, presented by Tridentity. Commencing on 9 Nov 2024 at Palawan Green, this thrilling event promises to combine the best of fitness, fun, and innovation while also celebrating the spirit of community and transformation.
Alongside cool Transformers merch, the event includes different activities to involve the whole family – highlights include a Kids Dash, as well as a 5km Fun Run. There will also be a 25 foot tall Optimus Prime on display at the event grounds, along with a Best-Dressed Transformer contest and photo booths.

12. Singapore Coffee Week 2024
Coffee lovers, rise up! In celebration of Singapore’s vibrant coffee culture, the Singapore Coffee Association is hosting its inaugural Singapore Coffee Week at Plaza Singapura (Level 1 Main Atrium, 10am to 10pm) from 31 Oct to 3 Nov 2024.
This 4 day event will feature interactive learning experiences on coffee history and preparation, masterclasses in coffee techniques, and a variety of coffee products from over 32 brands. Key highlights include a Specialty Coffee Village showcasing beans from regions like Peru, Indonesia, and Colombia, and diverse local and international booths offering everything from drip bags to grinders. The best part? Admission is free.
Attendees can also participate in activities with a chance to win over S$30,000 in prizes, including coffee brewing kits and grinders. The event will also host the Singapore Barista Team Championships, where teams of baristas will compete to create the best coffee drinks. 13. Match for Life Carnival
This November, support a good cause at Tampines Hub: The Match for Life (MFL) Carnival, held as part of the Bone Marrow Donor Programme’s (BMDP) annual campaign. From 9 Nov 2024 to 10 Nov 2024, this event will feature education exhibits, games, food booths, and superhero appearances from Superman and Captain America!
There will also be exclusive insights from the BMDP National Survey, and the unveiling of the BMDP Stories Book, “Saving Lives Together” with guest of honour Senior Minister of State Dr. Janil Puthucheary.
