Immerse yourself in a fragrant masterpiece as you harness the essence of Singapore’s enchanting orchids to create your own signature scent!

Scentopia Sentosa is a perfume making workshop that allows you to create your own unique perfume. The workshop, located in Sentosa, is open to adults and children aged 12 and above. A 100ml bottle costs S$125, while a 50ml bottle is S$95.

The workshop begins with a brief introduction to the art of perfume making. You will learn about the different types of fragrances, the different notes that make up a perfume, and the process of creating a perfume.

Once you have learned the basics, you will be given the opportunity to create your own perfume. You will start by choosing a base note, such as sandalwood, musk, or amber. You will then add top notes, such as citrus, floral, or spice, and heart notes, such as rose, jasmine, or lavender.

As you pour your custom fragrance into an exquisite bottle, you’ll feel a sense of pride and accomplishment, knowing that you’ve created a scent that is truly your own. With each spritz, you’ll be transported to the vibrant streets of Singapore, relishing in the memories and emotions that your bespoke perfume evokes.

What I love the most is that the ingredients are all infused with orchids of Singapore! Click here to view the list of oils.

SKAI has partnered with ARTiSTORY and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, to introduce the 2nd installment of a 4-part series of art-inspired afternoon tea events. Named “Gathering of The Greats, A Wave from The East,” this unique culinary experience invites guests to embark on a captivating journey through Katsushika Hokusai’s renowned woodblock print collection, “Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji.”

The menu draws inspiration from Katsushika Hokusai’s floral prints. The Duck dish is visually stunning, resembling petals and infused with flavours of chrysanthemum from Hokusai’s “Chrysanthemum and Horsefly” print. It incorporates chrysanthemum leaves, raspberry, and an oat cracker. The Celeriac dish puts a creative twist on SKAI’s regular high tea menu, using beetroot shards, whole grain mustard, and sourdough bread to evoke the majestic Mount Fuji in Hokusai’s “Rainstorm beneath the Summit.”

Chef Paul’s Salmon dish is inspired by the “Blackberry Lily” print and is garnished with hibiscus cress, granny smith, and wasabi, creating vibrant colours and a citrus flavour. The Eel dish takes inspiration from “Peonies and Butterfly” and features a tart-based morsel with delicately piped hummus and olive oil caviar, presented with green peas resembling leaves.

skai - desserts

The Chocolate Fuji dessert is a visually stunning creation, featuring an ivory white chocolate shell and a mango passion fruit coulis centre, meticulously crafted to resemble the iconic Mount Fuji. The Vanilla Cloud Mousse captures the essence of the clouds in Hokusai’s prints, including “Umezawa Manor in Sagami Province” and “Under the Wave off Kanagawa,” and is served with a delightful raspberry marmalade.

Chef Ming pays homage to Hokusai’s “Chrysanthemum and Horsefly” with 3 dainty pastries: a Yuzu Crémeux presented as a yuzu tart with a flower sable on top, lightly garnished with sea salt; a Rose Grapefruit, a beautiful mascarpone-based cream puff designed to resemble a chrysanthemum; and a Matcha Sando Sandwich, a decadent cookie sandwich featuring green tea, lemon, and grapefruit to represent the leaves in the same print.

SKAI - interiors

The experience will be available from 2 June to 1 July 2023, held daily from 3pm to 5pm at SKAI, situated on Level 70 of Swissôtel The Stamford. It is priced at S$68++ per adult and S$34++ per child (6 to 12 years old).
