Fans of the popular hawker bakery Uggli Muffins have probably already heard the news that they will be closing both their outlets permanently on 10 Oct 2023. Well, if you haven’t already gotten your final fix of muffins, the business has announced that it will be giving away free sets of its muffins on 11 Oct 2023.

Uggli Muffins’ owner, Anton Tan, initially announced the upcoming closure of Uggli Muffins via a signboard plastered outside his stall, which read: “Uggli Muffins will STOP operation after 10 Oct 2023 until a successor is found.” The news was made more widespread when the business shared the news on their Facebook page on 6 Sep 2023.

At of the time of writing, it would appear that Anton has not yet found a successor to his business, and will hence be closing. To commemorate the closure of the business, you can grab some of their signature muffins for free on 11 Oct when you head down to either one of their outlets.

Uggli Muffins to shut if successor not found by 10 Oct

From 11am to 2pm, or while stocks last, Uggli Muffins will be giving away a set of their muffins to their supporters. Simply head down to their outlets at 127 Toa Payoh Lorong 1 or 202 Jalan Besar to get your free muffins. Each person is entitled to 1 set, but if you are a medical staff, or if you are collecting muffins for a charity organisation or a social enterprise, you will be allowed to get more sets for free.

We foresee there being long, snaking queues at both of Uggli Muffins’ outlets, so if you are a huge lover of their bakes, make sure to arrive early to secure your set of muffins.

We wish Anton and all the staff of Uggli Muffins success in their future endeavours and hopefully, a suitable successor for the business will be found soon.
