The Annual Ultimate Hawker Fest (UHF) celebrates Singapore’s Hawker Heritage with more than 20 Singaporean hawker chefs gathering for 1 day to volunteer for a good cause.
UHF 2014 will feature fellow Singapore food bloggers Maureen Ow (MissTamChiak), Derrick Tan (SgFoodOnFoot) and Ian Low (TheSilverChef), who will combine their gourmet expertise to bring together more than 20 chefs to create the Ultimate menu.
Covering a floor area of 6,110sqm, the best of Singapore’s hawker culture will be showcased in three food zones namely Ultimate Original Recipe [ 食代相 传 ], Ultimate Pursuit of Happiness [ 食膳 为心 ] and Ultimate Ingredients [ 食材科 举 ].
Apart from culinary veterans, UHF 2014 will also feature a new generation of young budding chefs like Douglas Ng of Fishball Story, and Gerald and Julyn of Penang Kia, who have committed much to honing their passion and craft.
My fellow food bloggers were not paid to organize this and despite their own busy schedule, have happily helped out this worthy cause so do support them as well as our Singapore Hawker Heritage. The hawkers participating are also not paid, and merely reimbursed for the stall rental and ingredients.
All proceeds will contribute towards TOUCH Community and the various charities they support.
