Oh, the most romantic time of the year is drawing near. Valentine’s Day, regardless of its reputation as an overly-commercialised celebration, is one of the special days couples look forward to. After all, a beautiful setting and an outstanding meal is the best way to someone’s heart, isn’t it?
From lush and elegant, to casual and affordable dinners (and even a cute picnic), we bring you our top 10 hand-picked recommendations for a fabulous Valentine’s Day dinner that’ll have your other half swooning.
1. Lawry’s The Prime Rib Singapore
Lawry’s The Prime Rib’s love affair with prime cuts began 85 years ago and is going stronger than ever. Known for its iconic “Silver Cart” tableside carving stations, Lawry’s The Prime Rib Singapore is the place to be if you savour good ribs.
Their Valentine’s Day 6-Course Set Menu (S$218 per person) is available on 13 Feb & 14 Feb 2023.
It begins with the aroma of freshly baked Assorted Soft Rolls. Entertain your palate with the amuse-bouche of Pan Seared Goose Foie Gras with Mandarin Orange. Its accompaniments of cherry, orange sauce and edible rose are a delight of colour and flavour.
A soup course of Slow-Boiled Fish Consommé with Grouper Fish Slices and Kale follows. Whet your appetite with the appetiser of Baked Oyster with Cheese and Pomodoro Sauce, which is served with Jumbo Shrimp with Cocktail Sauce and Smoked Salmon. They are followed by a palate cleanser of Lime Sorbet Paired with a Shot of Island Easter Moscato.
That paves the way for your choice between 3 specially-prepared Valentine’s Day entrées.
First on the list is the Signature Roasted USDA Prime Rib of Beef. It comes with 150g of USDA Prime Rib of Beef, US Idaho mashed Potatoes, Yorkshire Pudding, Whipped Cream Horseradish, and choice of creamed Corn, creamed Spinach or buttered Peas.
Your second option is Smoked Duck Breast with Grilled Boneless Chicken. The duck and chicken are served with Herb Cream sauce, Parmesan Cheese, Braised Egg, poached Pear, roasted Cherry Tomato, brined Beetroot, seasonal US Idaho mashed Potatoes and Vegetables.
Perhaps the Slow-Braised Lamb Shank entrée of Lamb Shank, Port Wine sauce, US Idaho mashed Potatoes and seasonal Vegetables will be your choice.
Dessert is your decision, too, and the choices are the Be Mine Red Velvet Sponge Cake with whipped Cream, Cream Cheese, fresh Strawberries and edible Rose, or Blue Lagoon Vanilla Sponge Cake with Cream Cheese, Vanilla Cream, Milk and edible Rose.
Guests seated between 4pm and 4.30pm on 13 Feb and 14 Feb will receive a discount of 10% on the Set Menu.
Should you prefer to treat yourselves to your regular Lawry’s favourites instead, a limited à la carte menu will be available for lunch and dinner on 13 Feb 2023 and for lunch only on 14 Feb 2023.
All Valentine’s Day bills will be rewarded with a S$50 Return Dining Voucher. Spend S$500++ or more and receive a complimentary limited-edition bottle of Veuve du Vernay Brut Rosé to take home.
You can make this most special of days even more special by booking your Valentine’s Day meal before 9 Feb 2023. To congratulate you for being an early lovebird, Lawry’s will present you both with individual personalised menus. These bespoke creations are truly a wonderful keepsake to remember a most wonderful shared meal at Lawry’s.

2. Hotel Fort Canning
Few destinations in metropolitan Singapore regale you with the serenity and intimacy of nature as Fort Canning. That ambience makes the 4-course dinner (S$168++ per couple) at Fort Canning’s The Salon from 11 Feb to 14 Feb 2023 even more special.
What a pleasant start it is to the evening with an amuse bouche duo of beetroot tartlet balanced by a zesty orange citrus cream, and a mousse of salmon highlighted by the umami of nori tobiko. Wild Scallop follows, served with edamame, vanilla cauliflower cream and a drizzle of kaffir lime oil.
Savour the flavours of the ocean next with Lobster Broth served with lobster ravioli and accentuated by hints of lemongrass.
Your main course is a choice between beef and sea bream. The Angus Beef Tenderloin comes with a foie gras sauce and a side of potato roasted in duck fat. The Sea Bream is served with smoked mussels, squash and daikon puree, combining delicate flavours and a meaty texture.
White Chocolate Mousse with strawberry salad, dusted in gold makes for a decadent end to the evening.
Fancy an 18% discount on this 4-course dinner? That is one of the many benefits of booking a staycation at Hotel Fort Canning from 1 Feb to 18 Feb 2023. Stroll the verdant gardens, take a dip in the 2 mineral pools, and enjoy a massage treatment at the Chinois Spa during your stay. Rooms are priced at $528++ per room per night and the package includes:
- Daily breakfast for two at The Salon
- Premium bubble bath with flower petals
- Bottle of Prosecco
- Pair of HFC Love Squirrel plushies

3. Gotti Italiano
Gotti Italiano is named after famed New York Sicilian mafia don John Gotti. The restaurant’s menu even bears a silhouette of the showy, publicity-savvy ‘Teflon Don’. That menu echoes the decor, which bears heavily on the Cosa Nostra penchant for fine dining, fast living and that hint of danger-gilded excitement.
Naturally, the food is authentic Italian, with its focus on fresh, seasonal ingredients and flavours coaxed from recipes refined over generations. Tipples are infused to exact perfection with classic ingredients, too, while the true-blue Italian wine list adds a touch of refinement that would make Gotti proud.
Valentine’s Day celebrations at Gotti Italiano go from 14 Feb to 15 Feb 2023.
For the full experience, couples who crave the Bonnie & Clyde vibe should book the V-Day Special Someone 5 Course Set Menu (S$198++ per couple). This package includes 3 drinks per person.
Their V-Day You are the One Set Menu is a step above. It comes with the same set menu at S$198 per couple but also says Ciao bella with a choice between 2 curated Handmade Hamper Sets (add-on S$98 each).
Each comes with a decorative acrylic box, fairy lights and decoratives. With its Moet Imperial Champagne 375mL, the Champagne Hamper is made for celebration. The Shiraz Hamper substitutes this for Jacob’s Creek Classic Shiraz 2019 187ml and a pampering set that includes a Hooga face towel and wax diffuser. Both hampers come with chocolates, too.
Our favourite part of the menu is the Cocktail Di Gamberi. Crafted from the imaginative musings of Chef Ilham, this is a shrimp cocktail but unlike any that you have ever had before. Think of it as the traditional way of having a shrimp cocktail but completely reversed where interaction is the name of the game. Intrigued yet?
Another highlight is the visual spectacle of the Risotto al Granchio. This is king crab meat flambéed with VSOP brandy, accompanied by fresh lobster bisque. Gotti Italiano brings in Carnaroli rice specially for the event from Puglia for the risotto.
Prefer to celebrate the favourites you know and love from Gotti Italiano’s criminally-good à la carte menu? You can opt for that, too.

Its 27 lush acres atop a hill on Sentosa Island are home to wildlife— including majestic peacocks— walking in a landscape of tranquil pools and palatial architecture.

Oh yes, the gilded touch comes in the form of a 1-hour Massage Voucher for Two. It’s the ideal way to prepare for the evening ahead.
There are few better views of the sunset in all of Singapore than that espied from The Cliff. Amore Valentine’s at The Cliff (S$158++ per diner, additional S$68++ for Wine Pairing) is a 5-course dinner set to this enthralling play of light and colour.
Begin your evening with a trio of antipasto, including mermaid oysters and flavourful burrata and caviar. The most difficult part of the evening is making a choice between the delectable mains. Your options are wagyu striploin with black truffle jus and fragrant roasted cod and cacciucco in a rich seafood broth.
An enticing concoction of raspberry sakura creme & strawberry jello is the sweetest of endings to spur even sweeter thoughts for the night to come.

5. Cinder Steakhouse
You wouldn’t think you were in space-starved Singapore on a visit to Cinder Steakhouse. Sprawled across 2 acres of manicured lawns, its elegant and spacious premises are a respite from the bustle beyond. The building itself is a majestic colonial longhouse, preserved in all its history-laden glory.
It’s an enchanting setting for an intimate dinner on Valentine’s Day or, if you prefer to avoid the rush, the day after.
Cinder Steakhouse is serving its special 5-course Valentine’s Day set dinner on both 14 Feb and 15 Feb 2023. There are 2 seatings on both days, the first from 6pm to 8pm and the second, 8.30pm to 10.30pm. Diners receive a complimentary glass of prosecco per set course.

The first is the House Smoked Duck Breast. This delectable rendition of poultry in the Cinder Steakhouse style is served with Puffed Quinoa. Candied Macadamia nuts, Figs and Pickled Persimmon add their exquisite infusion of textured highlights accompanied by Raspberry Ricotta.
Few places in Singapore do a better steak than Cinder Steakhouse, which has been at or near the top of our Best Steaks in Singapore list for years. For Valentine’s Day, they turn their practiced hands to perfect MS7 Jade Pure Wagyu Striploin. Decadently delicious on its own, the meat is a symphony of regal flavours when served with King Oyster Mushroom, Baby Turnip, Mashed Sweet Potato and Truffle Jus.
Reach those heady highs with your meal by opting for Wine Pairing (S$78++ per pax).
Want to give your special someone a flower without having to flounder? Cinder Steakhouse will have a handheld flower bouquet from Hyde & Seed delivered to your reserved table at the perfect moment. As part of the Valentine’s Day package, bouquets are available at a 10% discount.
‘Seasons Of Our Love’ depicts the different stages of romance through the flowers of different seasons. Like the blooming of a Daffodil in Spring to signify the spark of a new romance or a Winter Hellebore thriving in the cold, we too go through ups and downs in every season of romance. But just like these flowers, we always find a way to blossom again. Flowers are a universal symbol of love, and are the perfect love language for Valentine’s Day.

6. La Belle Époque
Chef Firdauz Nasir at La Belle Époque on Boat Quay has an exceptional spread planned for couples celebrating their union on 13 & 14 Feb 2023. Available for lunch and dinner, his European Valentine’s Day Set Meal (S$128++ per couple) is a delightful dive into contemporary continental fare.
It begins with an amuse bouche of Il Mio Piccolo Caprese created from buffalo mozzarella, heirloom cherry tomato, pesto verde and focaccia tuile.
After that wonderful introduction, it’s a segue into Gazpacho de Manzana, a tomato apple soup from Spain’s Andalusia region, served with vegetable relish. This is accompanied by Pear & Iberico, an inventive dish that marries the contrasting flavours of poached honshui pear with chardonnay wrap and fermin jamon serrano ham.
Cleanse your palate before the main with revitalising Berries Bourbon Sorbet. This is a fruity sorbet of homemade berries made with oak wood bourbon whiskey.
You have 3 choices of mains. The first is French steak dish Tournedos Rossini, filet mignon served with seared foie gras, truffle mash and red wine port sauce. Your second choice is a healthier alternative of charcoal-grilled Barramundi served with creme al zucchini. Chef Nasir’s third creation is Fennel Terrine, which is accompanied by magnificent purple potato, spice and vegetable demi-glace.
Very appropriately named Cupid, your dessert for the evening is a raspberry panna cotta with flat savoiardi and berries jelly. It is served with Black Velvet dessert cocktail made from St. Remy XO, black sesame mix and fresh lemon.

7. Farrer Horse
The elegance of a majestic horse, the exclusivity of the turf club and the thrill of the race come together at Farrer Horse. This amazing concept restaurant is a culinary tribute to the racecourse that used to stand near its location.
Come for the nostalgic ambience at their specially-curated Valentine’s Day set menu for two (S$98++) on 13 Feb and 14 Feb 2023.
Your evening of gastronomic indulgence begins with a starter of Smoked Norwegian Salmon Rillette flavoured with capers, dill and shallots.
It is followed by a selection of 2 mains. The first is pan-seared Smoked Pepper Duck Breast presented on a bed of cauliflower puree. The other is Fresh Red Snapper topped with a refreshing mango salad and accompanied by a fruity citrus cream sauce.
It’s hardly an intimate celebration without the tinkle of toasting glasses. Farrer Horse presents a choice of wine to pair with your meal: a selection of either red or white Saint Clair Marlborough.
End your journey with an upside-down Banana Cake with nutty peanut spread sesame brittle, sweetened with pomegranates and raspberry sauce.
