If you’re a fan of Xiang Xiang Hunan Cuisine (honestly, who isn’t?), here’s your cue to get those running shoes ready. The ever-popular Chinese restaurant is celebrating the grand opening of its 20th outlet at 313@somerset with a bang — including a can’t-miss deal of 40% off all dishes and more from 25 to 27 Oct 2025.

The new outlet, nestled in the mall’s basement, opens its doors on 25 Oct and marks the brand’s debut in the heart of town. It’s also one of their most spacious yet, housing more than 170 seats and three 10-seater private rooms — birthday bash, anyone? The space takes on a refreshed look too, featuring wood and stone fixtures, lush plant installations and soft, natural lighting that channel its wilderness-inspired aesthetic.

Now, onto what you’re really here for. You read that right: the 40% discount applies to all dishes at this outlet. This exclusive promotion runs from 25 to 27 Oct 2025, and is available only from 11am to 2.30pm and 4.30pm to 9pm.

That’s not all — you can stand a chance to walk away with a complimentary meal, S$30 off vouchers and exclusive Xiang Xiang merchandise in a sure-win scratch card lucky draw. Snacks and ice cream will be free-flow as usual, though this Somerset outlet comes with a fun new addition: a cotton candy machine, which you can enjoy for free when you post and tag @xiangxiangsg. And of course, it wouldn’t be a grand opening without a few new dishes to match. Xiang Xiang Somerset will be rolling a six-strong lineup of outlet-exclusive creations.

Got a penchant for spice? You’ll love the Fresh Chilli Spicy Prawns (U.P. S$26.90) and Stir-fried Tender Chicken with Old Ginger (U.P. S$26.90) — or, if you’re feeling adventurous, the Fresh Chilli Bullfrog with Chicken Claws (U.P. S$29.90).

Other hearty dishes even the pickiest eaters would love include the nourishing Mushroom & Shrimp Paste Soup (U.P. S$15.90) and the Cheesy Sweet Potato (Sweetcorn) (U.P. S$7.90), which layers sweet potato and corn under a blanket of stretchy mozzarella. There’s also the pillowy-soft Walnut Buns (U.P. S$4 for 2 pieces), hiding a brown sugar-laced walnut filling for a sweet finish to your meal.

Feel free to go ham on all the familiar favourites, too. I know I would.

No meal at Xiang Xiang would be complete without the Hunan Stir-Fried Pork (U.P. S$19.90) and Golden Broth Sour & Spicy Fish (U.P. S$32.90) — the latter of which, I insist, is one of the best suan cai yu you can find in Singapore.

All that’s left to say is run, don’t walk! Just be prepared to queue, because I’ve got a feeling everyone (and their mother) will be at Xiang Xiang Somerset this weekend for this irresistible deal.
