In those moments when I have awful flashbacks to bleary-eyed, anxiety-ridden mornings of exams, the only silver lining was a warm bottle of BRAND’S® Essence of Chicken my grandmother had prepared. In her typical grandmotherly ways, she’s convinced that a bottle of this would get me that much closer to scoring 100. I, unlike many peers I know, just loved how it tasted.
Of course, my grandmother is not wrong. Studies have shown that BRAND’S® Essence of Chicken has been scientifically proven to reduce tiredness, improve both your concentration and mood so that you can be the best that you can be.
Not to mention, with the state of the world at the moment, these seem like benefits you want to have just to keep your sanity. Seeing as BRAND’S® come with many benefits, why should it stop just because we don’t have exams anymore? I don’t know why I didn’t do this sooner, but perhaps it was time to integrate BRAND’S® Essence of Chicken back into my life.
We all know the benefits of having a morning routine; all the CEOs have it. And there is countless literature about its inherent benefits. I decided to try 12 mornings with BRAND’S® Essence of Chicken to see if they improved my day and eased the everyday stress that comes with it.
Here’s how it went:
Thursdays are usually a pretty hectic time for me, it’s the day I write my scoops which are time-sensitive and publish the weekly newsletter, so I’ve got to be on top of my game. I take my BRAND’S® Essence of Chicken quite happily, relishing the ‘chicken soup’ quality and honestly wishing I could have another one.
If you know me, you would know that matcha is my go-to, so I need that hit of caffeine to get through the day. It’s certainly not a day to feel sluggish. I feel a little zing of mental alertness, but I’m not sure whether that’s from the rush of the day or BRAND’S® Essence of Chicken. I’m done with my scoops, and I’m feeling exhausted.
It’s Feel-Good Fri-Yay at the office later this evening, which means lots of food and games. I’m looking forward to winding down from the week and having a giggle with my colleagues. Before all of that, I have a couple of tastings to go to. That means a lot of running around and taking photos. I woke up in a little bit of a foul mood, but there are things to do, so I gear up with my camera and take a swig of BRAND’S® and get ready to power through the day.
The day goes pretty smoothly until it starts raining cats and dogs, which does put a snag in some of my plans. Thankfully, I’m not as hangry as I thought I would be and have already completed most of my tastings. I make my way back to the office and have a great time with my colleagues.
It’s the weekend! Saturdays are the ultimate day to rest and recharge. This also happens to be my favourite day of the week. There is nothing like a good, sweaty yoga session to kickstart my weekend. Yoga classes on Saturdays are usually quite intense, so I reckon some from BRAND’S® Essence of Chicken would definitely help me power through the morning hot yoga class.
I come out sweaty, glowy, and feeling like I can do anything. If you haven’t been to a hot yoga class, I recommend you try it at least once. The feeling of accomplishment, bright and early on a Saturday, is like no other.
Then, Saturday gets even better as I spend the day doing all the things that have been on my to-do list for the longest time. I shop for new plants to add to my burgeoning forest and get some quality time with my family along with Disney+.
I have a ritual on Sundays where I have a plate of bak chor mee. Seeing as I have to incorporate BRAND’S® Essence of Chicken into the routine, I decided to have it before Sunday bak chor mee.
Besides the mental alertness that the Essence of Chicken is so well known for, it can also help with those sudden spikes of sugar and the inevitable crash from the food coma haze that we all know so well. Well, you know how carb-heavy bak chor mee is, and while there were slight inklings of an oncoming food coma, I think BRAND’S® did help to stave off some of it.
Having my bottle of BRAND’S® Essence of Chicken in the morning is something that has made its way into my morning routine. It’s quite easy since the bottle is pretty compact and handy. Plus, you can have it at room temperature, so it makes this much more manageable than handling a full cup of cold brew.
I breeze through the morning emails and organise my schedule for the following weeks to come. By now, downing a bottle feels very second nature to me. I think I might sign on as an ambassador soon enough.
It’s Thursday again, which means it’s one of the most hectic days of the week. Having had such a good run in the early part of the week, I decided to start my morning a little earlier to have a head start. Of course, there is my trusty bottle of BRAND’S® Essence of Chicken to help to get through the day.
This time, I’m clear-headed and focused on completing everything on my to-do list. It feels like a world of difference from the previous Thursday. Even after the workday is over, I don’t feel the strong urge to crawl into bed and just Netflix the rest of the day. Instead, I spend some quality time with family over a very competitive round of Monopoly Deal. Yes, some relationships might have been tested.
Seeing as how BRAND’S® helped with my yoga session, I put it to the test by having it before a spin class instead to, you know, shake things up (which is definitely something you need to do before you gulp a bottle down). As you know, spin is even more intense and definitely a cardio workout like no other. BRAND’S® helps me perk up a little since some of my muscles are still asleep that morning.
On this Sunday, instead of my usual bak chor mee, I make myself some eggs on toast with some prosciutto. As my toast heats up, I sip on my bottle of BRAND’S® just so I can truly savour all that it has to offer.
You might think it’s weird to have BRAND’S® before this breakfast, but the savouriness of the drink does pair quite nicely. Like I’ve said before, I would guzzle the Essence of Chicken if I could.
It’s quite fitting that my entire journey with having BRAND’S® Essence of Chicken end on a Monday because now that act of having a bottle in the morning has become second nature to me. Having the drink in the morning signals the start of the day helps me bring my A-game to work. Plus, the drink’s size makes the routine a lot more achievable, and that’s how we build better habits for ourselves.
So, the big question: will I continue this daily routine of consuming a bottle of BRAND’S® golden elixir every morning?
Building a habit takes time, and the daily routine of having a bottle of BRAND’S® has certainly paved the way for me to incorporate even better habits into my life. That jolt of energy is not only good for a packed day of writing and eating but also for some of the activities I enjoy like yoga or spin.
