I’m sure most of us can relate to being both hungry and lazy at the same time. Perhaps you’re alone at home and there are no ingredients to cook with or you forgot to bring your lunchbox to work and don’t feel like leaving the office…
Thank goodness it’s 2017 eh? Food delivery services are the best thing since sliced bread and with just a few clicks or taps, Deliveroo will get mouth-watering comfort foods delivered to your doorstep, anytime and anywhere. And, if you can’t decide on what to order, here’s a useful guide to help get you started.
Here are eight indulgent comfort foods that you should treat yourself to:
1. PS. Cafe – Spaghetti Bolognese
If you’re upsetti, have some spaghetti. I know most of us are always in need of some good pasta to fill our bellies and keep us feeling content so, go for the PS. Bolognese ($28.89) from PS. Cafe.
This traditional spaghetti dish is tossed with homemade ground beef, bacon and dollops of fresh tomato sauce. To top it all off, it’s also garnished with a good amount of hand-grated parmesan and crispy basil leaves for that perfect finish.

2. Fat Boy’s Burger Bar – Huge Burgers
Fat Boy’s Burger Bar is definitely a go-to burger joint in Singapore and rightly so, because it boasts some outrageously huge burgers on its menu that come with an affordable price to boot.
One of my personal favourites is The Elvis ($11.77) which is packed with a bacon stuffed pork patty and caramelised bananas with a thick slab of creamy peanut butter in between some toasty honey oat buns. This sweet and savoury combination is guaranteed to satisfy any burger craving you may have.

3. Choo Choo Chicken – Korean Fried Chicken
If you want to get some Korean fried chicken but are too lazy to ride the Choo Choo train to get it, there’s always the option of ordering in a Half Chicken ($18.72) from Choo Choo Chicken.
With a wide selection of flavours like crispy, garlic, honey soy, soy, spicy and sweet to choose from, it’s hard not to be spoilt for choice. The perfect way to cleanse our palate after the satisfying meal was none other than to sip on a can of ice-cold Coca-Cola Zero Sugar that left a refreshing aftertaste in our mouths.

4. OverEasy – Mac & Cheese
There’s nothing more comforting than some classic American diner-style dishes. If that’s what you’re peckish for, settle for OverEasy’s Mac ‘n’ Cheese selection.
Choose between the Good Ol’ Fashioned Mac & Cheese ($14.98) with three cheese sauce and bechamel topped with toasted breadcrumbs, or the Truffled Mac & Cheese With Wild Mushrooms ($19.26) if you’re a fan of that added smoky goodness.
There are of course many other choices in their macaroni and cheese repertoire, so take your pick!

5. Masterpiece Bistro & Bar – Fish & Chips
I reckon one of the best take-away foods to have would be the Fish & Chips ($16) from Masterpiece Bistro & Bar. With battered and fried fish and hot fries served together, this certainly makes for a hearty meal to have, whether you’re at home or at work.
Accompanying the main is a lemon wedge to squeeze over the dish, along with homemade tar tar and balsamic dipping sauces. Cut through the flavours with an ice-cold can of refreshing Coca-Cola to round off the meal perfectly.

6. Three Buns @ Potato Head Folk – Cheese Fries
You’d be lying if you said fries aren’t a form of indulgence for you. When you’re hungry for some cheese fries and the regular nacho cheese sauce dressing just isn’t going to do it for you, order the Naughty Fries ($12.84) from Three Buns @ Potato Head Folk instead.
While most prefer shoestring fries, I personally feel like thick hand-cut fries are where it’s at. Topped with spiced bearnaise, hot beef chilli and garnishes like bawang goreng, parmesan and sesame seeds, you’ll really get a kick from this delicious combination.

Want to cut the queue to get your hands on some barbecue ribs? Well, the Half Slab With Macaroni & Potato ($29.96) from Kenny Rogers is only just a few clicks away. You can even choose from the different side dishes that they offer to go with your ribs.
We decided to pair the half slab of roaster honey bourbon baby back ribs with a side of mac ‘n’ cheese, together with some garlic parsley potato. And of course, we couldn’t do without a glass of Coca-Cola in between licking all that delicious honey bourbon sauce off our fingers.
