Probably the most famous island in Indonesia, Bali boasts captivating beaches and a diversity of both traditional and modern culture. It is also known to us Singaporeans as one of the more affordable travel destinations, but did you know you could spend a night in a Bali villa starting from just SGD $79 a night!
And with a private pool, no less. Living in a large, two, three-storey house is no longer just a dream for people of this little red dot. It seems that Bali has no shortage of space for villas, so we took some time to scour for some that will not leave holes in your pockets. Because the more we can save the better, right? Even though we are on vacation doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be prudent.
1. The Jas Villas
This Balinese-themed villa is located in central Seminyak, just a 10 minutes walk away from Seminyak beach and some of the city’s attractions. The bedroom is spacious with mirrors further creating an illusion of space, and the pool, surrounded by high walls gives a sense of privacy. Just 30 minutes away from the Bali International Airport, you never have to worry about those ridiculously long bus or cab rides that eat into your recreation time. And also, room service is 24 hours! Prepare for plenty of late night suppers here in this homey cottage room.

3. Uppala Villa Seminyak
Those cosy looking bean bags right beside the pool make me feel like I would never leave the villa if I had set foot in there. And why would you need to? The spacious Balinese kitchen and dining area means you could cook meals for your other half and have a peaceful, undisturbed dinner away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Light a few candles, scatter some rose petals, pour some wine; it could possibly be the most fuss-free romantic setting.

4. Onlyou Villas
Enjoy a spectacular view of the sea and volcano Mount Agung from the balcony at Onlyou Villas. No worries, while the volcano is active, the villa is located far, far away from it. Stay calm, sit back and experience a holiday with a unique view.

5. Bugan Villas
The beautiful décor does not make this villa seem like it costs less than SGD 100 per night. The bedroom is comfortably decked out in a biege and white finish, with soft and snug blankets and cushions for your perusal. A great place to relax, otherwise, take it outdoors to the pool, which is barely more than a step out of the villa.

6. Cocoa Ubud Private Villa
Fancy a veranda of your own? The villas at Cocoa Ubud sport an open concept with an open dining area and a sitting area right at the front door. Enjoy a cup of tea or a glass or wine “outdoors” without having to worry about getting too hot under the collar. 7. Segening Villa
Surrounded by various plants and trees, this villa looks cool and very much like a house within the jungle. However, in this jungle you live in luxury. The grand canopy bed, lounge chair and pavilion outside can prove everything. Living in a jungle? Living in style. Due to the low price, rooms are extremely hot, so book way in advance!

8. Jas Boutique Villas
This villa looks rad (red). Get it? That was terrible, but you have to admit that this villa does look better than my pun. A pavilion that looks as stylish as it is comfortable, right at the pool? Great for a rest right after a swim, or even when you are dry and just want to read a book or two out in the open. Pop by the fully-equipped kitchen to prepare snacks if you ever get hungry.

9. Uppala Villa and Spa Umalas
The bedroom space in this villa is huge. Great news for the claustrophobic – no tiny holed up rooms but instead huge glass, accordion doors which you can open all over the space. The pool is just right outside the room so you could even try to jump from the bed into it. Forget we said that though, it is actually a horrible idea. On the other hand, YOLO.
