We’re still reeling from the recent mish-mash concocted by ramen joint, Jimoto Ya, and food scientists, Saucy. Case in point: this Yamazaki whisky-infused ebi ramen.

But it looks like the food-fusing folks from Saucy are back at it again, with another pop-up dish that will tease any truffle lover.

Launching at Kamoshita — which we raved about for being one of Singapore’s top sake bars and having an omakase menu with oden — is the Sea Bream Truffle Claypot Rice ($49), an off-menu special that’s good for sharing amongst three to four diners. Do the math; that’s affordable!

Two special features make this dish pop. First, the fish bones that are imported directly from the famed Tsukiji Market, which help impart the base stock with a flavour that’s sweet and not overly fishy. Sea bream meat is also generously added.

Second, the ingredient foodies can’t get enough of. Fresh, Italian black truffle is shaved live in front of you onto the claypot rice, alongside additional truffle oil to enhance the richness of this premium dish.

A dish this rare comes with exclusivity; not only does this offer only last ’til 31 January 2018, but just 10 bowls are available per day. To not be left out, make sure you reserve in advance. Customers will have to buy a $5 ticket on the website, and pay the remaining balance of the dish at the restaurant.

Does this dish sound fishy to us? Only in the best way possible.
