However, hunting them down can be quite a hassle, especially if you want to try every one of them.

Luckily, there’s a Taiwan Street Food Festival taking place at AMK Hub Basement 2 Atrium! You can get your fix of Taiwanese fares at this one-stop food fair that’s happening from now till 30 June.

We went down to sample some of the amazing variety of Taiwanese food they have to offer. So here are 6 stalls at AMK Hub’s Taiwan Street Food Festival that you shouldn’t miss!

1. Taiwan Waffles

If you have a sweet tooth, Taiwan Waffles (台灣雞蛋糕) has just the thing for you.

Claiming to serve up the first-ever Taiwanese waffle in Singapore, the stall offers a decent variety of customisable waffles.

Their Double Chocolate 双重巧克力 (S$3.50) has everything a chocolate lover could wish for. The waffle came with a chocolate-flavoured batter which was delightfully soft and pillowy.

Not only that, but they also filled it with a rich, decadent chocolate fudge that oozed out with every bite.

2. Take A Bite

Those of you who’re regulars of the annual Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar will surely find Take A Bite familiar.

Well-known for serving up a one-of-a-kind Fried Milk, the stall has come up with yet another intriguing item.

They’ve taken everyone’s childhood-favourite White Rabbit Cream Candy and created a White Rabbit Drink with Brown Sugar Pearls (S$4.50/S$5.50).

Just taking a sip of the drink very much reminded us of our childhood days. The distinct milkiness of the White Rabbit Cream Candy was all too nostalgic! We also appreciated that the brown sugar pearls had a perfectly chewy consistency too.

3. Loco Loco

Loco Loco is another name which most of you pasar malam and food bazaar-goers should be familiar with.

Even with a permanent brick-and-mortar store now, the churros speciality brand still has pop-up stalls regularly. They’ve also expanded from offering just churros to an entire menu of different street food.

If you’re a fan of takoyaki, definitely give their Mentaiko Takoyaki (S$4) a try. True to the dish’s name, they slather the giant takoyaki balls with thick mentaiko sauce before blowtorching it.

Of course, don’t miss their signature churros either! They offer a wide range of flavours and toppings, so we’d recommend going for their Assorted Churros (S$4) if you can’t decide what to have.

4. Beef Up

There’s bound to be something for everyone in a street food fair and Muslim foodies, this is for you! Beef Up is a halal-certified stall which serves up a decent range of Taiwan-inspired dishes.

They even have a permanent stall within the heartlands of Toa Payoh!

It’s no secret that they dish out warm, comforting bowls of Beef Noodles. However, did you know that they have a unique Maggi Pancake (S$4.50) on their menu as well?

They’ve taken inspiration from the famous Taiwanese scallion pancakes and gave it their own local twist. Wrapping instant noodles with egg in an omelette roll-style is certainly an innovation to behold!

5. Paradise Gastronomy (食味堂)

With a permanent eatery nestled away in the building of GV Yishun, family-run Paradise Gastronomy (食味堂) offers a good variety of Taiwanese dishes.

The owner, Evon, actually has relatives in Taiwan who she visits frequently. She picked up Taiwanese recipes there and brought them over to Singapore.

An iconic dish synonymous with Taiwanese street food is, of course, Braised Pork Rice 招牌台灣滷肉飯 (S$5). The salted vegetables which they serve it with provide an extra boost of flavours to every bite.

Not only that, but Paradise Gastronomy also offers Signature Salted Egg Chicken 食味堂招牌黃金鹹蛋雞 (S$5.50). They serve it with a thick and luscious housemade salted egg sauce which coats every chunk of chicken evenly.

6. Everything Food

A sizzling-hot plate of chai tow kway (fried carrot cake) never fails to hit the spot, if you ask me. However, not even this classic local breakfast item can escape from the undying salted egg-everything trend.

Yes, you read that right. The folks over at Everything Food have taken the two items and fused them together.

They’ve come up with Salted Egg Carrot Cake 咸蛋菜头糕 (S$4/S$5), which features their housemade salted egg sauce.

I’m on the fence about this fusion, but I reckon diehard salted egg fans will absolutely love it!
