No matter how many food festivals there are in Singapore, we’ll still find reasons to go for all of them because we Singaporeans just love our food.
This 5 – 14 July, Nom Nom Nom Food Festival will take over the space right outside Shaw House at Orchard.
Featuring 13 different vendors and a 9.3-metre tall double-decked carousel, Nom Nom Nom Food Festival can be your new supper or hangout place for this week. They’re open from 12pm – 11pm daily. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday night, they’ll be open till 1am.
It is, after all, a food festival. So here are some of the food that you may want to try while you’re there:
1. Impossible Inferno Sliders (by Three Buns)
Hopping onto the bandwagon of Impossible meats, Three Buns is serving up Impossible Inferno Sliders (S$15) that our vegetarian friends can also enjoy.
Although the Impossible patty is plant-based and vegan-friendly, the slider contains non-vegan cheese, so do take note.
2. Mala Beef Cubes (by Beef Bro)
For our Muslim friends, Beef Bro sells halal beef cubes doused in different sauces such as mentaiko and mala sauce. For those who can’t handle the spicy Mala Beef Cubes (S$15), you can enjoy the creamy and umami Mentaiko Beef Cubes (S$15) instead.
3. Salted Egg Rosti (by 6ixs Rosti)
6ixs Rosti offers Western street food like rostis and kebabs, which might seem normal enough. But one particular menu item with a local twist might just knock us off our feet.
Their Salted Egg Rosti (S$8) comes with a serving of sour cream dip — all the better to cut through that creamy, carb-y goodness.
4. Brown Sugar Creme Brulee Milk Tea (by KECha Singapore)
My first time trying a brown sugar creme brulee drink was when I was at The Alley at R&F mall. It left a good impression and definitely makes me want to try another one.
KECha Singapore is bringing its signature Taiwanese Brown Sugar Flaming Crème Brulee Milk Tea ($5.90) to the event and I can’t wait to try it!
5. Beer Gao
Essentially a mixture of Guinness stout and Tiger beer, Nom Nom Nom Food Festival is also offering all you alcoholics some Beer Gao (S$5). Happy hour starts at 4pm and if you want something familiar instead, a cup of Tiger beer only costs S$4.
Hipster food aside, the event also offers a range of traditional street food including Tutu Kuehs (S$3 for 5 pieces) and Muah Chee (S$2). Nom Nom Nom Food Festival also hosts a number of activities such as lucky draws or eating competitions for those who are up for a challenge.
Head on down to Scotts Road now to get a taste of some trending noms, or old but gold snacks.
