“That’s way too much bread”, said no one ever. Let’s face it, helpless to the siren call of artisanal sourdough, crusty French baguettes, and buttery croissants. There is no end to this carb love-fest and The Bread Rack is here to ensure the devotion to bread never ends.

Located at Space@Kovan, The Bread Rack is a bakery with all the top hits of the bread world. I know, I know we are all sick of hearing about sourdough bread. But, when sourdough is done right, it’s done right. This tangy, robust loaf is just the perfect companion to your daily avo toast and morning scramble. Well, The Bread Rack has a steady supply of sourdough to suit your fancy.

Their Seeded Sourdough (S$5.50) is probably is a good place to start; just think of all the toppings. If you have a pack of Bordier Butter lying around, it’s a *chef’s kiss* all around. Although, The Bread Rack’s Walnut & Cranberry Sourdough (S$4.50), looks dark, sweet, and oh-so-scrumptious.

When it comes to any bakery, I always check to see if they have a viennoiserie section. For the uninitiated, a viennoiserie is where the goods are kept. The pastries are made with laminated dough—read buttery, layered goodness that will hopefully remind you of Paris. The Bread Rack has no shortage of viennoiserie classics such as your ever-dependable Butter Croissant (S$4) or the heavily overlooked Almond Croissant (S$4.80).

Just to ensure that the menu at The Bread Rack never becomes stale, there will be specials every week such as this moreish Caramelised Garlic Herbed Focaccia or their Salted Caramel Cube Croissant (S$4.80). It’s ever-changing and just goes to show just the sky’s the limit when it comes to bread.

If you find yourself at The Bread Rack on those lazy afternoons, pair your baked good with a Dulce Latte (S$6) or a Flat White (S$5.50) and that’s an afternoon made.
