Here is an adorable one for you this gloomy afternoon. You know what they say, good things come in small packages. These miniature clay pieces from Sherry’s Minis clearly takes the cake, and a small one at that too.

Named after her mother, Sherry’s Minis is helmed by Rashidah, who has been dabbling in handmade crafts and the likes since 2001. Ever since she attended a workshop in 2014 to make a miniature macaron bracelet, she was hooked on the world of miniature food. Her primary focus is on creating miniatures of desserts and local Singapore food as she enjoys them herself.

A scroll through her Instagram page and I’ve got to say her work is beyond impeccable, and the attention to detail is astounding. Let’s start with one of the pièce de résistance of Sherry’s Minis, this amazing vintage Yakun coffeeshop that she says she might have shed a few tears in creating.

You have the admire the attention to detail, from the glass case of old-timey cakes to the half-boiled eggs accompanied by that signature cup of coffee. Plus, the little coffee socks at the side is truly the icing on the cake. It’s a tableau that I want right now on my desk.

Other creations include this impressive slice of kueh lapis, where each layer is gossamer-thin, courtesy of a pasta machine. Even looking at those layers is making my head spin. For those who are into more savoury treats, how about this tiny bowl of mee soto that looks good enough to tuck in on a rainy day.

If not, there’s a plate of satay that comes complete with the peanut gravy, chunky cubes of ketupat and juicy skewers satay that might make drool if you look at it long enough. Yup, all I’m thinking about is having some at the newly opened East Coast Lagoon Food Village.

While you’re at it, why not sip on some comforting mug of milo that comes along with its cute little Milo tin. Rashidah is also taking custom orders, so if there’s a favourite food you would like to make a miniature version of, just hit Sherry Mini’s up on Instagram and get ready to coo at the cuteness.
