By now, the buzzwords “TraceTogether”, ‘SafeEntry”, “Social distancing”, and “vaccination status” should come like clockwork to us. Everyone knows the drill—test, trace, and vaccinate. I mean, we have a whole song and arduous production dedicated to the holy grail of our COVID-19 measures.

So it comes as no surprise that TraceTogether tokens have become a “what’s in my bag?” staple, for those who opt for the token instead of the app. But what happens when those tokens run out of battery or become faulty, you may ask.  Some might know that replacing these tokens at token replacement vending machines is now a viable option, and the good news is that even more of such machines will be rolled out across neighbourhoods.

As long as the previous collection of the token is more than 60 days ago, you can replace it at any of the machines. Those who collected their tokens less than 60 days ago, however, will have to visit a manned token booth for the replacement instead.

The initiative will be scaled up and rolled out to more than 40 selected malls from 25 August 2021 onwards, as well as all 108 community centres across the island from 30 August 2021. View all active collection venues here.

With this initiative expected to come to completion by end October, the number of manned booth will also be cut back on. The existing token replacement booths at malls will cease operations on 31 August 2021 after the vending machines have substituted them.
