Something great the pandemic brought out of us Singaporeans was our united dedication to #supportlocal. Efforts to support elderly hawkers were aplenty, ranging from social media accounts to groupbuy initiatives. Despite these valiant efforts, many hawkers have been affected to the extent of shutting down. Hawker Stories at Raffles Courtyard by Raffles Courtyard is a newly launched initiative aimed at giving shuttered hawkers a chance to share their dishes with the community.

From 16 March to 29 May 2022, Hawker Stories at Raffles Courtyard will be giving a new lease of life to the hawker stalls that have closed down due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Carefully handpicked in collaboration with Makansutra and its founder KF Seetoh, these hawkers will be whipping up their signature dishes once again.

The lineup of hawkers is available here, and what better way to #supportlocal than to indulge in a meal surrounded by lush al fresco greenery?

Since 2020, our hawker culture has been officially inscribed in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, a nod to Singapore’s vibrant multiculturalism and heritage. Guests will be able to indulge in local delicacies that are no longer as readily available, and show their appreciation for our sunny island’s culture and local hawkers. Wash it all down with a curated selection of mocktails, cocktails, spirits, beers, wines, and more!

Every bundle ordered from each instalment qualifies for a stamp on a special card – all guests need to do is collect three, and they will be rewarded with a complimentary bottle of Domaine de Fontenille Rosé, an exclusive only at Raffles Hotel Singapore. Redemptions are valid until 31 August 2022.
