Korean food, live music, and great drinks. That’s what I’d call a fun evening. The new kid on the Clarke Quay block, Jinju Modern Korean Bar, looks promising in what it has to offer night owls on the prowl in the city’s party central. I’m all for great nosh and local bands.

So what can you pile onto your plate? Their main focus is serving traditional Korean seafood dishes with a twist. To get a taste of the sea, you’ve got to give the Oyster With Kimchi Granita (S$26) a go. They’ve also got the Tuna Tartare (S$20) that has pear, rice crackers, and onions to accompany the fish.

What has really got my hunger pangs going though are their marinated items— I’ve always liked my seafood with a good kick of flavour. You can’t miss out on the Marinated Crab (S$68) which has soy flower crab with garlic and chilli. There’s also the Marinated Prawns (S$38) you can try.

If you’re not feeling for seafood at the moment, they’ve also got a few other options you can dig into. There’s the Pork Jowl (S$22), Wagyu Steak Frites (S$58), Kimchi Bacon Pizza (S$28), Bulgogi Pizza (S$28), and a lot more with a good dose of Korean to it all.

If you’re coming with your buddies, go for the items under the To Share category. They’ve got the Spicy Seafood Stew (S$88) with flower crab, abalone, scallop, prawns, and clams. Yet another item to share is the Clams Seaweed Soup (S$28).

Another major highlight  is the extensive drinks menu that guarantees a good time. They’ve got Happy Hour all day on Sunday with beer pints from just S$8.90++, and their selection includes everything from good old soju to whisky.

They’ve got one for one Beer or Soju Alfresco Promo from Monday to Thursday, from 7pm till late. To top it all, they have a range of local talent playing at their spot every day. Note this one down for your next weekend plan.
