If you’re bored of the same old brick and mortar cafes, head to the newly-established Kopi Pokok in Shah Alam. At Kopi Pokok, you can enjoy the quiet breeze under the shade of trees while you sip on your cup of coffee.

The founders of Kopi Pokok established this cafe in the hopes of making it as sort of a community centre for the residents of Shah Alam. It’s a place where the elderly and younger generation can sit together and share ideas while reigniting the kampung coffeeshop-type atmosphere.

Single? Kopi Pokok even has a designated seating spot for you! Don’t miss out on their must try beverage— Butter Coffee (RM4). A thick black coffee with a pad of butter which gives the coffee a rich, buttery(duh) taste. For those of you who find black coffee unappealing, try their Caramel Coffee (RM6) instead. This drink is perfect for those with a sweet tooth as it comes with generous helpings of caramel syrup!

Kopi Pokok also has yummy snacks to go with your coffee: Waffles with either chocolate or peanut butter topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream (RM8) and Nachos (RM10). However if you’re an early riser and are looking for a nice breakfast, try their traditional Nasi Lemak Bungkus which comes with boiled egg and spicy sweet sambal. You can also tuck into their delicious Rendang Daging which comes with a side of Lemang.
