My Experience at Lost World of Tambun

Lost World of Tambun - View of the floating villas and mountains

If you’ve been longing for the tranquillity of nature minus the mosquitoes and hot air, glamping is the perfect activity for you. Here, you can opt to stay in the Malayana Floating Villa, a new way of camping but with air conditioning, a private bathroom, and soft pillows. Placed in the lake at the end of the park, these floating villas offer a comfortable spot to relax after a long day of exploring.

Suitable for families, each villa comes with a king bed for 2 adults and a couple single beds for 2 children. The glamping package even includes 4 tickets to the theme park and night park for a full day jam packed with fun activities. But, before you nestle yourself in bed and call it a day, check out the attractions Lost World of Tambun has to offer.

Lost World of Tambun - Water slide and pool

The Lost World Water Park is perhaps the most efficient way to beat the Malaysian heat. Why spend your day sweating in the humid air when you can be perched on a giant float, making your way down the Adventure River?

With the heat wave that’s been robbing us of our comfort, taking a dip in the cool water was refreshing and rejuvenating. Bliss isn’t a 2-week vacation— ultimate bliss is sitting under a water fountain, surrounded by trees, mountains, and the gleeful laughter of strangers.

Their water park features several slides to choose from, ranging from solo, open-air rides, to long tubes or darkness. Upon reaching the summit of the Tube Raider, we eagerly inquired of the attendant which slide held the utmost thrill, and he gestured towards the one positioned on the far right. Long story short, we were screaming the whole way down, out of both fear and delight.

Lost Wrold of Tambun - Dragon Flights in action

14 must-try Ipoh food spots approved by the locals [Jan 2025 update]

Pro tip: the best way to dry yourself off after a full day of splashing about in the pools is to take the Dragon Flights ride at the Lost World Amusement Park— you’ll be lifted into the air and spun around like cotton candy.

If you’re one to gawk and coo and animals regardless of species, the Lost World Petting Zoo and Lost World Tiger Valley will intrigue you. From head-butting goats and a whole village of guinea pigs, to a pony with a stylish hairdo and colourful birds that’ll gingerly pluck the sunflower seed from your fingers, they’ve got it all.

Lost Wrold of Tambun - Sunshine the giraffe

We had the opportunity to feed Sunshine, the park’s resident giraffe who’ll charmingly twist her tongue in every way for a bite of fresh carrots. We also got to watch the tiger feeding show that showcased the tiger’s speed and agility.

Lost World of Tambun - Capybara and racoonYou know what else they have? Capybaras. I think that’s enough motivation to book your tickets now. Lost Wrold of Tambun - Food spread

While the culinary offerings at theme parks often elicit trepidation, we can confidently assert that the fare we sampled at Ipoh Street was surprisingly delightful. The broth of the curry mee was rich, savoury, and full-bodied, and the ayam masak merah was equally tasty.

Lost Wrold of Tambun - Ipoh Street

Lost World of Tambun isn’t just about fun; they also make it a point to educate the public on Ipoh’s rich history through the Lost World Tin Valley. Experience the ways in which tin miners would mine for the natural resource through dulang washing, and get a taste of traditional local treats at Dulang Tea House.

Lost Wrold of Tambun - Hot Springs

As the sun began to set, we ventured towards the hot springs and immersed our feet in the soothing pools of warm water, providing a rejuvenating respite for our tired muscles after a day of exploration at the park.

Lost World of Tambun - Luminous Forest and Flaming Percussion show

The 2 other  night activities that we had the pleasure of experiencing were the Luminous Forest and the Flaming Percussion show. The Luminous Forest displays fluorescent art work placed tastefully among the rocks are trees while a low drumming beat plays in the background. The Flaming Percussion is exactly how it sounds like: they begin with a percussion show, followed by a fire performance successfully executed by a group of brave staff members.

Final thoughts

Lost World of Tambun is a prime example of working with nature instead of against it. There, you’ll see how many attractions like Lost World Adventure Park and Tarantula Alley are built in tune with the natural dips and peaks of the rocks and caves in the park. Instead of skyscrapers and sounds of racing vehicles, you get to see luscious greenery and hear the chirping of birds and insects that live deep in the jungle.

All in all, this theme park is a fantastic place to visit with your loved ones. There’s just so much  to do, see, and experience. Regardless of age, there is something to captivate every individual, as the array of attractions caters to diverse preferences, ensuring that everyone discovers something they will thoroughly enjoy.
