If you’re more of a traditionalist and love braised dishes like pork trotter, then this article is for you. Introducing Lu Wei Man Tang, a hawker stall that made its grand opening on 25 Dec 2022 at Chinatown Complex Food Centre.

After exploring work in other industries, the owners realised that their passion was still in F&B. To keep the fire burning, they decided to venture out on their own and start this business.

I grew up eating my grandma’s dish of braised duck with pork belly which is close to my heart. Soft, succulent meat coupled with the savoury notes of soya sauce and aromatic herbs. This humble dish always goes well with a bowl of plain porridge or white rice— it’s one of my comfort foods!

The menu features a braised-centric menu with wallet-friendly choices like Braised Pork Belly Rice (S$3.50) and Braised Pork Trotter Rice (S$3.50). As Chinatown has a large population of older folks living in the vicinity, they’ve decided to offer affordable options to cater to them.

Other items in the menu include pricier options like Braised Pork Belly And Trotter Rice (S$7), Ala Carte Pork Belly (S$6) and Ala Carte Pork Trotter (S$6).

As the stall is still in the soft launch phase, be sure to keep a lookout for new offerings on their menu in the future— I for sure will be eagerly waiting!
