If you asked me to recommend a place to eat curry rice, Beo Crescent Curry Rice is one that comes to mind. The no-frills Hainanese-style curry rice that was previously situated in an old-school coffee shop has finally gotten a long overdue makeover. With that, Beo Crescent Curry Rice officially reopens after a 3-month hiatus. Get ready for the long queues!

Located a stone’s throw away from Tiong Bahru MRT, the Hainanese-style curry rice stall has remained one of the constants in the Tiong Bahru neighbourhood.

Despite its previous set up at a kopitiam, this store never ceases to attract a hungry lunch crowd. The store has been around since the 1980s and since then, they’ve been attracting a crowd of regular customers. Loyal fans will know that Beo Crescent Curry Rice has maintained a great standard for almost 40 years ago.

3 months ago, news hit the roof about the closure of Beo Crescent Curry Rice. Because of that, many netizens were afraid that their regular curry png place was going to close its shutters. However, the announcement assured us that the coffee shop (and stall) would be undergoing renovation, not closing down.

As of 27 Dec 2022, they have opened the coffee shop and Beo Crescent Curry Rice is back in business. By the looks of the relentless queue, the opening has surely sparked excitement. I bet all of you have been craving their crispy fried pork!

Despite its newly renovated ambience, the snaking queues are still as relentless as ever, but I’ve got to say that the renovation is a huge improvement as the coffee shop is now well-ventilated and brightly lit. Sounds like it’s time to get down and dirty with a plate of curry rice!

My typical plate of curry rice usually consists of pork chop, stewed cabbage, fried eggs and curry sotong. Just imagine a plate of watery curry doused over your plate of rice and topped off with a runny egg yolk — shiok!

Their most notable item would be the crispy pork cutlet. Cut into ultra crispy morsels and paired with their thick delicious curry,, you can hear the loud crunch with every bite. Thinking about it just makes me salivate.

Once news broke loose about their opening, the aunty in me quickly came running down. The wait for their reopening has been too long!
