Do you love bánh mì? It’s a Vietnamese street food involving baguettes stuffed with loads of ingredients including pâté, meats and vegetables. One of my favourite spots to get it is from Bánh Mì Saigon, a popular takeaway stand in Ang Mo Kio offering several variations of it. And guess what? They’ve just expanded their menu… and I’m loving it!

I love Vietnamese rice noodles, which is somewhat similar to our local laksa thick bee hoon, but thinner. The new menu features 5 different kinds of rice noodle dishes.

Some of them include Bún thịt nướng (S$8.90), which is served with delicious grilled BBQ pork while Bún Chả Giò (S$8.90) comes with fried Vietnamese spring rolls.

Those who love our local sio bak, try the Bánh hỏi heo quay (S$8.90). It is paired with crispy roasted pork— simply yummy! If you’re looking for something more unique, try the Bún Bò Lá Lốt (S$9.90) which comes with beef that’s wrapped in betel leaves.

The stall also introduces Traditional Vietnamese Breadsticks (S$9.90 for any 3). It’s basically a thinner and sexier version of a bánh mì with fillings like fried fish with tomato sauce, and pâté and butter. These would be convenient to have on-the-go.

The menu also has Instant Noodles with Egg and Shrimp (S$7) and Vermicelli Noodles with Egg and Shrimp (S$7). If you’d want to takeaway the bánh mì without any toppings, they are available at just S$2.90.

I can’t wait to return to try out their new offerings. If you’re never tried their bánh mì before, you should. I consider them the best I’ve had in Singapore!
