As a loyal patron of a renowned zhu za tang stall at Jalan Besar, I was excited to try the 2nd outlet of Koh Brother Pig’s Organ Soup which opened at 824 Tampines Street 81 on 1 Jun 2023.

I had heard a lot about the renowned Michelin Bib Gourmand stall at Tiong Bahru Market & Food Centre, yet I hadn’t had the opportunity to try it until that day.

The stall, nestled within the newly-renovated BK Eating House, offers its signature slurp-worthy bowls of Pig’s Organ Soup (S$4.80/S$6.80) as well as a selection of new braised dishes exclusive to this branch.

The Pig’s Organ Soup was served with pork slices, pig’s stomach, liver, pork balls, and salted vegetables. The broth had a clean and light taste, and I was pleased to find that the liver was cooked perfectly without being overdone.

The pork slices were exceptionally tender and lean. While it would appeal to those who prefer lean meat, it may not suit someone like me who enjoys a bit of fat.

In addition, I also sampled the Braised Big Intestine (S$5) and the Braised Small Intestine (Powdery) (S$5). The former was skilfully prepared, devoid of any unpleasant offal flavours. However, it was the latter that truly amazed me. The seasoning was impeccable, making it exceptionally addictive.

The Braised Pig Trotter (S$6) was a substantial portion, and with each mouthful, my palate was enveloped with loads of delicious gelatinous goodness.

The 2nd branch also offers Braised Big Intestine (Head) (S$6), Braised Beancurd (S$1/S$2) and Braised Egg (S$1).
