Fusion food has always had a special place in my heart. So, I’m overjoyed to know that Staple Food Cafe recently revamped their space at Joo Chiat to bring us their delicious bites with an SGean twist yet again!
Staple Food Cafe is known for their intriguing fusion food that features Italian and Japanese cuisine with a Singaporean twist.
This includes pasta and sandos infused with local flavours such as sambal and soft shell crab.
Together with their reopening, Staple Food Cafe has just launched a brand new Portable Coffee Box (additional S$30 for corporate bento meals).
It comes in a capacity of 96 fl oz (approx. 2.9 L) that is enough for about 8 to 12 cups. Yes, you pour the coffee right out of the box. The adorable coffee-box is perfect for picnics, gatherings and even office parties!

The cafe has plenty of coffee options. For something unique, don’t miss out on their Lavender Coffee (S$6) that’s bound to both energise and relax any wearied soul. The cafe infuses the coffee with pure dried lavender flower essence for the most intense lavender aroma.
At the heart of the the cafe’s ethos is their fusion fare. Be sure to check out their Local Salted Egg Yolk Pasta W/ Soft Shell Crab (S$22). The creamy salted egg yolk sauce and crisp soft shell crab is bound to make for a rich, indulgent meal.
For something more potent, opt for the Teriyaki Beef Asian Aglio Olio (A.K.A) Sambal Pasta (S$18). It has a spicy kick from housemade sambal. The dish is elevated by beef short plate and has a sweet-savoury taste from the teriyaki sauce.
