After 11 years of service, Ciel Patisserie has closed their Hougang outlet from 25 May 2023. They are set to reopen in Thomson although not much information has been shared by the team yet. However, online pre-orders have also temporarily ceased at the time of writing.

If you have ever wondered what ‘ciel’ means, it is essentially a French term referring to heaven. Of course, anyone who has taken a bite of their treats would find the term perfectly apt— it is akin to receiving a slice of heaven!

Having garnered an ever-increasing fan base, the dessert house is best known for their creative spin on classic flavours and bakes.

Although prices have increased in recent years, they are still significantly lower than that of other cafes serving similar items. Their Scones are the cheapest bake which sells for S$2.80 while the most complex designs can go up to S$8.20

The neighbourhood bakery and cafe surprised countless guests with their intricate cake designs and flavours. Their most popular items include their range of tarts and ondeh ondeh cake. More adventurous eaters and cake connoisseurs would be satisfied with their petite delicate cakes.

Almost all their bakes are available in slices or whole cakes. Priced at S$7.20 per slice, the Exotique features coconut-forward flavours contrasted with tangy and luscious passion fruit crémeux. On the other spectrum of flavours, chocolate lovers — like me — would be thrilled with the alcoholic Mon Cheri (S$8.20 per slice). Yum!

Ciel Patisserie’s version of black forest, the dessert is pumped with 64% silky chocolate mousse and embellished with kirsch-infused morello cherry confit. This decadent component is then seated atop a crispy feuilletine.

Stay tuned for upcoming announcements to get your hands on their specialty creations!
