Who doesn’t love a great Korean Fried Chicken aka kfc? What if I told you that a robo chef-helmed joint, Robert Chicken has just opened its doors?

Behind the same team as the guys at Market Blue, the store cooks and serves perfectly deep fried chicken at Great World.

As much as I love KFC, I must admit that I’m a sucker for this kind of kfc. The fact that it’s manned by Robert, the robot chef just makes this place so much cooler!

Robert Chicken’s parent company, Robo Arete is a Korean startup established in 2018 which had 6 franchise stores in Seoul alone. At long last, this trendy chicken stop has reached our shores.

Where else can you expect to find chicken cooked by a robotic arm on our little red dot? As Robert is an intelligent robot, diners can look forward to perfectly crispy, crunchy bites every time.

Robert Chicken offers a delicious range of flavours such as the Original, Black Pepper, Butter Soy and Chipotle Mayo (S$11 for 6 pieces).

If you want MORE chicken, they also come in larger servings of 12 pieces for S$18.90 and 18 for S$29.90. For the indecisive, there is also a great Half-Half option (S$22.50) where you can get 2 flavours.

You can also look forward to other typical Korean street food such as Rice Cakes (S$3.90) and Twisted Donuts (S$3.90) to accompany your kfc.

Robert Chicken - Chicken & Rice Bowl

Personally, I especially loved the Original Black Pepper, which was drenched in a deliciously savoury, peppery sauce that reminded me of Black Pepper Chilli Crab. The chicken also had an amazing crunch beneath the sticky, slightly sweet sauce that coated the boneless chicken pieces perfectly. The Butter Soy was also very good, with a perfect balance of salty and sweet. If you like the honey-butter combo, this one’s for you.

For a more filling meal, Robert Chicken also has rice bowls, their K-Cupbop (S$9.90). The Chipotle Mayo flavour has the same crispy robot fried chicken and tamagoyaki nestled atop fluffy rice and chipotle mayo sauce for a spicy kick.

I know I’ll be back to try more of their great offerings like the Sweet & Spicy Chicken (S$13 for 6 pieces) in future! Head down to Great World to get your fill of some delightfully crunchy, crispy and flavourful kfc while watching in awe as a robot does all the work.
