Some of the older folks living in Clementi may recognise classic Clementi 308 Western Food, which opened there in the early 90s. Sadly, this beloved old-school Western food joint will close for good on 9 Jul 2023 and will only operate its Ang Mo Kio branch.
Popular for their gigantic portions, Clementi 308 Western Food garnered quite a lot of attention in Clementi. Also known as Clementi 308 Fried Chicken and Burger, this stall used to have queues with waiting times up to an hour long.
Nostalgic food holds a special place in my heart, so the fact that we are losing a classic makes for disheartening news. I am sure many will feel the same, especially with the number of closures happening of late.

Since this Western food stall is not active on any social media, the post announcing the closure was made by a customer who spoke to the Auntie when ordering at her stall. The reason she gave for the closure was that she and Uncle are retiring.
Following up on the comments, the user gave more reasons why they are ceasing operations for good. Apparently, the Uncle has been battling a medical condition related to his legs. Because there has been some deterioration, he is no longer being able to man the stall.
Many folks lamented the loss, saddened to see Clementi 308 Western Food gone.
The stall is popular for its chicken chop, thanks to the housemade mushroom sauce slathered generously over the charred meat. A crowd favourite would be the sides, with ultra-fresh coleslaw and the classic old-school bun being the most popular. It truly brings back memories for the older folk.
As we bid goodbye to an old goodie, you may want to squeeze in some time for a final visit for nostalgia’s sake. Many thanks to Uncle and Auntie for providing comforting Western food and may they have a restful retirement!
