The dirge’s dreaded tunes may be playing again, this time over an extremely popular Western stall at ABC Brickworks Market & Food Centre. Wow Wow West Genuine, famous for ginormous portions of Western food, is looking for someone to take over the reins.
For the ageing owners of this beloved stall, the time to hang up their hats is fast approaching. A Facebook post on 1 Oct announced their search for ‘the perfect owner’ of the Wow Wow West Genuine brand.

Asked about what prompted this heartbreaking decision, co-owner Elizabeth shared that the topic had been in discussion for months. “My parents are ageing… and it’s tough for them. The stall is hard to let go, but it’s a decision my parents have to come to terms with.”
Pressed about when the closure would be, she said “No estimates yet. But wouldn’t be far off.”

Western lovers might just have enough time to savour their titanic Chicken Chop (S$8), Fish & Chips (S$9) and Chicken Cutlet (S$9) that come with their house-made mayonnaise sauce before Wow Wow West Genuine shutters for good or is taken over by new owners.

You might remember that the stall was also the setting for a heartwarming romance that blossomed over many years between 2nd-generation co-owners Jayden and Elizabeth.
For the owners’ peace of mind and our sake, let’s hope that they find the right buyer(s) to carry forward the stall’s over-20-year history, which stretches from its early days in Raffles Institute to the current location in ABC Brickworks Market & Food Centre.
