I’ve been noticing a lot of nasi lemak content on my feed recently, and one stall caught my attention and made me go “Wow”. I’d never known that nasi lemak could be in Hakka style until I found out about Taste Legendary Nasi Lemak.
Be sure to reduce your speed while searching for the stall, as you might miss it if you blink! Taste Legendary Nasi Lemak is nestled in a back alley of the bustling city at Pasar Transit, a building next to Pasar Chow Kit.
This Chinese nasi lemak stall opens as early as 7am — it’s quite a popular breakfast spot amongst locals and you’ll almost always find a queue outside of the stall.

The nasi lemak consists of standard condiments like coconut milk rice, ikan bilis, egg and cucumber. In addition, there’s something that makes its nasi lemak stand out — you can add Hakka braised pork to your dish!
Hakka braised pork is a best-seller here. You can also find other dishes like pork rendang, sotong and curry chicken. All the dishes are cooked in limited quantities, so make sure to arrive early, or you might miss out on some of the dishes. A plate of nasi lemak here usually costs around RM20, depending on the portion of meat you opt for.
The sambal here has a sweeter flavour profile, so if you enjoy sweet sambal, this is the ideal spot for you. Other than the sambal, the curry gravy is also a must-try. You can drench your nasi lemak with the curry gravy and enjoy the subtle herb flavours in your dish.
