I was recently in Chinatown with some friends and decided to drop by the new ME Cafe & Games. With a large space filled with a variety of activities, you will be entertained whether you prefer gaming or fun physical challenges. Keep scrolling to check out some of my personal highlights from this indoor playground.
Archery

For those of you who have always wanted to bring out your inner Hawkeye or Katniss Everdeen, this activity is for you. ME Cafe & Games Chinatown features a digital Archery range, where you can test your accuracy.
Using the machine is also really convenient, because once you’ve fired all your arrows at the target, you can call it to you with simple button presses, and collect your arrows easily. Come here and compete with your friends to see who can get the highest scores!
Console Pods

If I had a full day at ME, this is where I would spend most of my time. For those of you who have always wanted your own “man cave”, there’s literally one for you here. In fact, there are multiple Console Pods where you can play PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch games.
If you’re an introvert or prefer single-player games, you can find your tiny little haven here. If you’re more of an extrovert or multiplayer game expert, grab some buddies and have your own cosy gaming session!
The television is also connected to popular streaming services like Netflix, though I doubt many people will come here just to watch a show.
Racing Simulators

Ever since I watched the F1 Singapore Grand Prix last month, I’ve been itching to play racing games and simulators. So you can imagine my excitement when I noticed these 2 Racing Simulators stationed side-by-side.
Powered by 2 PlayStation 5s and featuring full set-ups with steering wheels and pedals, this station allows you to race another friend in Gran Turismo 7. According to the staff, these simulators are quite popular, sometimes having lines of people waiting for their turn to race. However, there was no queue when I was here on a weekday night, so I guess your experience depends on when you visit, too.
Billiards

This is another classic game that I think people will spend hours at. There are a few Billiard tables in the centre of the facility, so grab a cue stick and challenge your friends to a game or two.
Basketball

If Basketball is your sport, this corner is for you. The Team Basketball Challenge machines will pit you and your friends against each other in a fast-paced shooting game, where accuracy and teamwork will determine winners.
Each game is about a minute long, so you can play multiple games in a row if you’d like. But do keep a lookout for any other visitors who are waiting for their turn. You don’t want to be known as a machine hoarder!
Floor is Lava

And of course, we can’t forget Floor is Lava. This game, which has been popular for quite some time, can also be found at ME Cafe & Games Chinatown. It’s one of the most eye-catching stations you will notice when you first enter the playground, so hop on it with a few others and warm yourselves up!
Your reflexes, teamwork and friendships will be tested as you try to clear levels in quick succession. Make sure to get on it the moment it’s unoccupied because it’s definitely popular, based on how there were always players there during my visit.
Pricing and other information

The activities I’ve listed are only some of the 30+ physical and digital games available at ME Cafe & Games Chinatown. You can also look forward to other games like Claw Machines, Duel Ball, Cycling Competition, Darts and more. If you’re already sold, here is some useful information for you as you plan your visit.
Firstly, the indoor playground is located at the lowest basement of Lucky Chinatown, which is most accessible from Exit A of Chinatown MRT Station. Secondly, there are 2 types of entry passes that you can purchase, which give you access to all the games.
There are hourly passes for those who just want a short gaming session, at S$12 per hour on weekdays and S$15 per hour on weekends and public holidays. But there are also whole-day passes priced at S$58 on weekdays and S$68 on weekends. Do take note that whole-day passes are not available on Saturdays, public holidays and the eve of public holidays.
The entire venue can also be booked out for birthday parties and celebrations, and can hold up to 100 guests. This will cost S$1,200 per hour on weekdays and S$1,500 per hour on weekends and public holidays.
Head down to Chinatown if you’re looking for a new hangout space with friends!
