Do you ever feel a sense of deja vu when a piece of news comes up? Well, that’s certainly what I felt when I heard that Telok Blangah Food Centre‘s iconic Seng Huat Prawn Noodles had reopened on 19 Dec 2025.

If you aren’t in the know, allow me to enlighten you. Seng Huat Prawn Noodles, also known as Chen Fa Prawn Noodles, is considered to be one of the best prawn noodle hawker stalls in Singapore. While my journey through Singapore’s vast hawker scene is still ongoing, the glowing reputation this stall carries among locals truly speaks for itself.
Seng Huat Prawn Noodles can trace its history back to Bukit Timah, where a husband-and-wife duo opened it. They moved to Telok Blangah Food Centre around 30 years ago and have stayed there ever since.

Unfortunately, time has not been kind to the couple. Signs of trouble began to show when posts were spotted on Facebook groups in Oct 2024, reporting that the stall had been closed till further notice. Netizens later discovered that the uncle behind the stall suffered a bad fall and was recovering from surgery.
Seng Huat Prawn Noodles officially reopened on 6 Apr 2025, with the couple’s son now helping out at the stall.

Strangely, they closed again, less than a year after reopening! The closure mostly went under the radar, with only one Facebook post discussing it. Said post also shared their reopening date of 19 Dec 2025.
We were unable to pin down the exact date of Seng Huat Prawn Noodle’s second closure and the reason behind it, but we can only presume the owner’s deteriorating health may have played a part.

No matter, Seng Huat Prawn Noodles is back. You can head down to indulge in their Prawn Noodles (S$4 for Small, S$4.50 for Large) with both Soup and Dry variants. Patrons adore the nostalgic, umami-packed richness of the soup, along with the strong, garlicky sambal spice from the dry variant.

While they aren’t known for it, don’t skip out on their Fishball Noodles (S$4 for Small, S$4.50 for Large), which also come in Soup and Dry variants.
Seng Huat Prawn Noodles has already reopened, so make your way down and support them! Note that they are located in Telok Blangah Food Centre, not Telok Blangah Crescent or Telok Blangah Rise.
