If you’ve been online in the past week, chances are that you’ve seen Aifokatos content at least once. Located at 111 Telok Ayer Street, Aifokato has opened, offering a fully customisable affogato experience.

Aifo Kato - Exterior of stall

It took us just a short 2-minute walk to arrive at Aifokato. What we realised was that seating was sparse, and Aifokato functions more as a take-away beverage bar, as there were a few wooden stools and chairs around.

Aifo Kato - 3 drinks & Butter Tteok

The ordering method is simply — select your gelato flavour, and then your pour. We weren’t sure what the best combinations were, so the staff recommended their top 3 for us. We got the Vanilla Gelato and Espresso pour (S$10), the Matcha Gelato and Matcha pour (S$10), and lastly the Chocolate Gelato and Chocolate pour (S$10).

Aifo Kato - Espresso Pour

Presentation-wise, we found it unique, for the gelato was precisely scooped all around the cup, forming a diamond shape. The staff there do the pour in front of you, and seeing the sizzling of the hot coffee made my mouth water.

Aifo Kato - Vanilla Gelato & Espresso, Chocolate Gelato & Chocolate

The Vanilla Gelato and Espresso pour worked the best in my opinion. The vanilla was creamy and smooth, which oddly paired well with the bitter espresso. The Chocolate Gelato and Chocolate pour was a little too rich for me (even as a chocolate lover) and resembled that of dark chocolate. It had a richer, velvety taste that I enjoyed for the first few sips.

Aifo Kato - Matcha Gelato & Matcha pour

The Matcha Gelato and Matcha pour had a stronger, sweeter taste than regular matcha. There was a hint of bitterness, though not overpowering.

As it was a hot day, we expected that the gelato would cool us down quite a bit, but we were quite disappointed when it melted rather quickly. Hence, we suggest grabbing a spoon and savouring the gelato before trying the pour.

Aifo Kato - -86 degrees latte

The -86 Frozen Dirty Latte (S$10) was interesting to us. The glass is chilled at -86 degrees before hot coffee is poured in. It remained relatively cold and creamy throughout our meal, which I enjoyed, though I found that the coffee was slightly diluted.

To pair with our drinks, the Butter Tteok we had was firm on the outside, but delightfully buttery and soft on the inside. While not sold as a separate item for now, it is offered as a free side until 30 Apr 2026.

If you want a unique and aesthetic drink that’s easy to drink on the go, Aifokato has got you covered, but do brace yourself for the long lines !
