Bon Odori is a Japanese summer tradition that dates back more than 500 years, bringing communities together through music, dance and celebration. If you’ve always wanted to experience the festival, this is one of the easiest ways to do so in Kuala Lumpur

Throw on a yukata if you have one, grab your favourite Japanese festival snacks and don’t be shy about joining the Bon Odori dance, as everyone is welcome to take part.

Visitors can look forward to more than 40 Japanese food and beverage vendors serving up festival favourites alongside Bon Odori dance performances, wadaiko drumming and other cultural showcases throughout the day.

Cosplay fans will have plenty to look forward to as well, with Acosta! returning alongside the Hiroshima Cosplay Competition and a special appearance by internationally renowned cosplayer Reika Arikawa
