At the heart of this year’s festival, CHIJMES and Capitol Singapore offer plenty of reasons to stay awhile. An art jamming session after dark
As the sun sets, CHIJMES Mini Lawn glows in a completely different light. Every Thursday to Saturday evening, Neon Glow Art Jamming turns the open lawn into an outdoor art studio where fluorescent paints shine beneath UV lighting.
Jointly presented by CHIJMES and Visual Arts Centre, Neon Glow Art Jamming takes art out of the classroom and into the open air. Blank canvases and mini sling bags become your creative playground, while complimentary neon face painting adds to the festive atmosphere.
No artistic background is required. Pick up a brush, experiment with colour and let the glowing paints do the rest. The picnic-style lawn encourages people to settle in, chat between brushstrokes and enjoy the slower pace of the evening.
By Saturday evening, the mini lawn takes on an entirely different rhythm. Live DJs spin an easy-going soundtrack as paintings slowly come to life under UV lights, conversations stretch into the night and the atmosphere becomes every bit as memorable as the artwork itself.
Adding to the atmosphere is Cellarbration, CHIJMES’ Official Alcohol Partner during Singapore Night Festival. See CHIJMES Hall in a new light
Textures Through Time projection mapping takes centre stage at CHIJMES this Singapore Night Festival, bringing the venue’s rich heritage to life through projection mapping on the iconic CHIJMES Hall external facade.
Taking place each evening from 21 Aug to 5 Sep (7pm – 11.30pm), the experience transforms the historic architecture of CHIJMES Hall with digital visuals, creating a striking interplay of light, texture and history.
The experience forms part of CHIJMES’ Singapore Night Festival programme, which also features Singapore’s first large-scale indoor projection mapping experience inside CHIJMES Hall on opening night (21 Aug) and closing weekend (3 & 4 Sep).

Discover local creativity at Capitol Singapore
A short walk away, Capitol Singapore’s Outdoor Plaza becomes home to MAD Market’s PASAR MA(D)LAM, a creative night market spotlighting independent artists, designers and makers. Make sure to catch it on these dates: 21 to 23 Aug, 28 to 30 Aug, 4 & 5 Sep (5pm – 10pm).
Expect handcrafted goods, live caricature artists, henna art and a community tapestry artwork showcase by local artist Natalia Tan, where visitors are invited to contribute their own stitches to a shared artwork.
Creative workshops introduce practical ways to upcycle everyday materials, while live performances keep the plaza lively throughout the night. Spend a little time browsing the stalls and you’re likely to leave with more than a souvenir — perhaps a conversation with a local maker or a handmade piece with its own story.

How to get there?
One of the easiest ways to experience what CHIJMES and Capitol Singapore have to offer at Singapore Night Festival is by public transport. Bras Basah, Bencoolen, City Hall and Bugis MRT stations are all within a short walk of the festival zones, making it easy to explore Capitol Singapore, CHIJMES and the surrounding Civic District on foot.
Several bus services also stop along Stamford Road, Bras Basah Road and Victoria Street. If you’re driving, parking is available at the surrounding malls, although public transport is recommended as roads around the precinct tend to get busy during festival evenings.
