It’s that time of the month again where I’ll consolidate 5 new makan spots around Singapore for you to swing by. For September, I have a great assortment of places to suit every vibe and budget: a contemporary hotel restaurant, a cafe, a pasta hawker stall, a yoghurt spot and a bakery. Without further ado, here’s my curated list of the 5 new hawker stalls, restaurants, bakeries & cafes that opened in Singapore in Aug 2026.
Ducoo

Ducoo is a hawker stall at North Bridge Road Market & Food Centre that sells a variety of pasta dishes. The reason Javier, the owner, sells pasta is simple — he loves eating it. On the menu, you can find aglio olio and tomato-based pastas that start from S$6. There’s even a signature Rigatoni Carbonara (S$10.50) that has guanciale, egg yolk, and parmigiano.

The Prawn Aglio (S$8) was a divine dish of garlic, chilli, white wine, extra virgin olive oil, prawn stock, and pangrattato (seasoned breadcrumbs). The punch of garlic was robust, while the strands of al dente pasta packed some spice from the chilli. Though the 2 tiger prawns were humongous, they were juicy, naturally sweet and cooked to perfection. That aside, the plates were pretty and looked like they belonged in an Italian housewife’s kitchen.

Tanica

Drawing inspiration from the essence of Singapore and the Singapore Botanic Gardens, Tanica at The Singapore Edition is a lofty space serving up Asian cuisine, complemented by regional herbs and spices. They are then either grilled over the Josper or char-fried in the wok. The dishes are served family-style, designed for sharing with family and friends.

Who knew that the Chicken Rendang Puff would harmonise so well with the roasted garlic yoghurt with curry leaf oil? We adored the Salad of Jicama & Pineapple which came with a refreshing tamarind, perfumed with rojak flower and kaffir lime. One of my favourites was the 200g Black Sambal Murray Cod. The fish was fluffy and juicy while the black sambal tasted like a fiery combination of mustard vegetables and cai poh. Tanica also offers a Weekday 3-course Set Lunch at S$48 per person.

Hone.

Who doesn’t need a brand-new bakery with scrumptious bakes? I know I do! Located right smack in the CBD, HONE. at Eon Shenton was originally a home-based business, run by a mother-daughter team. Its offerings include sourdough shio pans, sourdough bagels, and cakes.

One variety that stood out was the Sourdough Bagel Pumpkin Chicken Floss (S$6). The pumpkin’s natural sweetness combined with the savoury chicken floss made it a force to be reckoned with. For something lightly savoury with a kick of spice, then the Sourdough Bagel Jalapeno Cheese
