Singapore has some truly excellent French fine-dining establishments, but what if you’re craving some of your favorite French classics and don’t want to drain your bank account over white table clothes and three to four figure bottles of wine?
French food is famously delicious, savory, buttery, rich and innovative, but often times this comes at a price. We’re not simply talking about baguettes, croissants or Délifrance. We want the real deal that comes from all over France.

L’Entrecôte has long been one of, if not my favorite French establishment in Singapore. Their classic steak, fries and signature sauce (to die for) is not only delicious (not the mention the only main on the menu), but great value for money. Their quality house wine is also very affordable at $12 a glass and $54 a bottle. Good food, good ambiance, good value – a must visit.

O’Batignolles has an array of quality dishes, cheeses and wine all at a very affordable price. In you are in the club street area during the week, check out their set lunch promotion for a truly delicious choice of soup, salad/sandwich, dessert and coffee for only $18. They also do a stellar weekend brunch and retail bottles of wine that won’t break the bank.

Near the beautiful Botanic Gardens at Bukit Timah, La Petite serves up a simple menu of classic French appetizers, mains and desserts.
They create an impressive array of dishes in a relatively casual space – confit de canard, salmon steak, escargo and more all at a reasonable price point.

Taratata Bistrot is a modern Parisian-style bistro with cosy red booths for a welcoming ambience. Serving up regional French dishes combining traditional culinary techniques with whole dishes, Chef owners Betrand Raguin and Philippe Nouzillat cook well-loved rustic dishes that are very much affordable.
A 2-course lunch set starts at just $30, while a la carte items like rillettes, escargot, cheeses and duck confit all remain within reasonable prices.

Head on over to Cafe & Bar Gavroche and truly feel like you’ve been transported to Paris. Beautifully decorated and ready to serve up all your French favorites such as corque-monsieur, chocolate croissants and mountains of cold cuts and cheese. Bonus points for free flow Rosé on ladies night every Wednesday.

Saveur has become well known and well loved around Singapore for being one of the most affordable French restaurants in town. Balzac Brasserie is another spot that nails the quintessential Parisian bistro vibe. I know, I know, Miam Miam is a French cafe with a Japanese influence, but you can still get some really great classic French dishes here at a good price. If anything, come here just for one of their multiple baked French soufflés for a taste of France. With all their dishes made hot to order, you can surely get your fix and leave satisfied.
