French cuisine is often associated with modest portions at not-so-modest prices. Think white table cloths, waiters clad in uniform, and an extensive wine pairing list to go with your already extortionate meal. Bistro G is here to change those preconceived notions. Having recently settled in the space of now-defunct Plentyfull, the bistro serves up modern and classic French cuisine, along with a selection of burgers, pizzas and pastas.

The team behind the eatery is none other than Patisserie G’s Gwen Lim, and Chef Christophe Grilo. By merging her experience in pastry-making and restaurant management along with Christophe’s culinary expertise, Bistro G hopes to create an honest, accessible french dining experience.

As such, it is no surprise to see many of their dishes hinging on pastry components. First up, the Beef Wellington (S$28) features the coveted filet mignon encased in buttery, flaky puff pastry. Definitely a must-try if you come here.

The Potato Gratin Pithivier (S$24) is yet another signature item on Bistro G’s menu, showcasing layers of pastry enclosing a mix of potato, comte cheese and mushrooms.

Furthermore, the bistro is running a weekday set lunch (S$18++) with one starter and one main. The mains include the Margherita Pizza, Meatball and Pesto Pizza, or the Pasta of the Day. Burger aficionados can also look forward to the Beef Burger (top-up S$4). The choices for starters include a Caesar Salad or the Soup of the Day. If you’re still hungry, you can also add on $4 for a dessert to end your meal on a sweet note.

Bistro G has indeed spiced up the dining options along Millenia Walk. Do give them a try if you’re in the area. For more places to check out in the vicinity, do also check out MEIDI-YA’s 2-storey flagship store.

The restaurant is open from 26 November onwards.
