Chun Seng Noodle House, famous for their signature 100-years-old lor bak recipe, are finally back from their hiatus. Previously located at ABC Brickworks Market, Bukit Merah, they have since relocated to Ghim Moh Food Centre.
It was only last December when they cited “burnt out” as a reason for their closure, and now, three months later, they’re back in action! This is obviously great news for BCM lovers out there.
Wondering what sets them apart from good ol’ BCM stalls? Well, over at Chun Seng Noodle House, they crown their bed of noodles with the traditional pork liver and braised mushrooms, along with generous slices of lor bak (braised pork belly). Pork belly in BCM? I’m sold!
They also underwent a look upgrade; from pale white to now, a bright yellow signboard paired with an illustration of a chonky fortune cat stuffing its face with a hearty bowl of noodles and two pieces of lor bak. “… We sure hope this fortune cat brings prosperity to our new group and to [sic] become an iconic visual for everyone so you can spot us anywhere”, as stated on their Instagram post where they explained the meaning of their adorable new mascot.
If you’re not a fan of their signature Bak Chor Mee (S$4.50 for regular, S$6.50 for large), you can opt for their Braised Pork Belly Noodles (S$5.50), Dumpling Soup (S$4.50) or their latest addition, the Spicy Dumpling Soup (S$4.50).
