Singapore is certainly saturated with an abundance of coffee joints and different coffee spots. But who can say no when Compose Coffee, one of South Korea’s biggest coffee chains will be opening their first international outlet in Suntec?

The store is set to open at Suntec City Tower 3, opposite Mr Coconut.

Compose Coffee is renowned in Korea for their affordable cafe fare and wide array of options. Though they only opened less than a decade ago, they currently have over 2,000 stores across South Korea alone! They were even named Korea’s favourite coffee joint at the 2023 Korea’s Most Loved Brand Awards in May 2023.

If you’re an avid K-drama fan, the brand also wouldn’t be all that unfamiliar. Jung Hae In, the brand’s ambassador starred in multiple hit series like Disney Plus’s “Snowdrop” and even “Guardian: The Lonely and Great Godaka Goblin way back in 2016. The fresh-faced, youthful-looking heartthrob (eye candy much!) is sure to make anyone want to buy their coffee.

Jung Hae In aside, Compose Coffee’s menu boasts a huge (and I mean huge) variety of drinks. With both coffee and non-coffee options, they’re sure to have something for everyone. Although many Koreans seem to frequent the shop for an affordable “ah-ah” (iced americano) that’s only 2,000 or roughly S$2, the other options here are not to be missed.

As a mint-choco lover (I’ll never understand those who say it tastes like toothpaste), the Latte with Mint Fresh Cream looks extremely appealing. They even have a Red Bean Paste Milkshake that has mini injeolmi topping it off. It’s bingsu, but in milkshake form. How cool!

Of course, no cafe is complete without a dessert selection and Compose Coffee has a great one. They have a stellar selection of waffles, as well as the very-on-trend croffles for you to enjoy with your coffee.

While many cafes downsize their menu when expanding overseas, here’s to hoping that the selection will remain fresh and exciting when Compose Coffee finally opens their doors here.

Though there are no details on when the shop is set to open, you can bet I’ll be making my way there just for that Jung Hae In-endorsed coffee when it does.
