Joining the flurry of stalls at Lau Pa Sat Festival Market is Creme & Cone, a spanking new gelato boutique which features freshly-churned flavours. Previously functioning as a pop-up, Creme & Cone has since set up a more permanent space in Food Folks, Lau Pa Sat’s retail space highlighting local retailers and F&B concepts.

The gelato bar has a total of 16 flavours (S$4 for single scoop, S$8 for double scoop) available. This ranges from classics like Chocolate Hazelnut and Pistachio, to more funky renditions like Root Beer Float. What jumps out, though, are the choice of cones. While they may look unassuming from afar, make no mistake, for these cones are unlike those you find elsewhere.

First up, the freshly hand-rolled Milo Crunch (S$1) provides a fun, malty vessel for your scoops of gelato. In fact, the folks at Creme & Cone recommend pairing them with flavours like butter kopi and pulut hitam. Bandung (S$1) cones are another unique take on the traditional ice cream cone, as its light-pink hue induces a subtle throwback to the quintessential Singaporean beverage.

Non-cone fans can still be excited by Creme & Cone’s Waffle Pops (S$3.80) which present your scoop of gelato on a mini Belgian waffle, all resting on a popsicle stick. If you’ve ever felt like having ice cream and waffles all to yourself, your time is now.

With such a plethora of flavours to choose from, ice cream junkies can come here to try out all sorts of pairings to create the ultimate gelato combo.

To celebrate its opening, the outlet is also running a 1-for-1 special on selected flavours of single scoops throughout the month of December 2020. Bring a friend (or don’t) and quickly hurry down to Lau Pa Sat to snatch these scoops!

Be sure to head on down to Creme & Cone soon to have an ice cream experience that is undeniably inspired by local flavours. If you are interested in sourcing out more ice cream stalls, do check out Iseecream and Haute and Cold too.
