Daniu Teochew Beef Ball is a beef noodle stall at Kovan. Although newly opened in the community, it shouldn’t be unfamiliar for those who’ve dined at Daniu Teochew Seafood before.

For the uninitiated, Daniu Teochew Seafood is a restaurant that focuses on Swatow delicacies. The owner, Daniel, grew up in Swatow and shortly moved over to Singapore, where he began making Chinese Teochew delicacies from his first brainchild— Daniu Teochew Seafood. Want to know a fun fact? Da Niu is actually the transliteration of Daniel… instead of the direct translation of big cow/beef!

However, what might surprise you is how fresh Daniu Teochew Seafood is to the F&B scene. Daniel opened the restaurant in Nov 2020 but has already established itself as one of the more recognisable traditional Teochew restaurants.

Clearly, they’re thriving with the opening of Daniu Teochew Beef Ball. Currently in a soft launch since 26 Mar 2023, they’ve plonked themselves in the middle of Kovan— next to the popular Nakhon Kitchen and famed 888 Mookata.

Daniu Teochew Beef Ball must’ve been an extension of Da Niu Teochew Seafood, as the original Teochew restaurant also served delicious home-made beef and pork balls. It could be because of its popularity that they considered opening a branch that specialised in beef. Considering how they stood out from the rest by making self-made meatballs, they’re clearly dedicated in providing quality beef balls in your meal.

They specialise in Chao Shan cuisine, utilising the freshest ingredients and Chao Shan culinary cooking techniques. The signature Beef Noodles (S$10.80/S$13) will definitely sweep you off your feet. They go through the time-consuming process of serving handmade beef balls so as to serve their customers premium quality food.

If you enjoy eating innards, Daniu Teochew Beef Ball also has Beef Offal (S$15) and Pork Offal (S$10.80/S$13).

If not, they do have a Seafood Noodle (S$10.80/S$13) option that includes a myriad of seafood from fresh prawns to clams. I’d recommend going for the soup option— you can expect an aromatic and comforting broth that’ll make you go back for more.
